ABOUT US

Founded in 1993, Bayview Asset Management is an investment management firm focused on investments in mortgage and consumer credit, including whole loans, asset-backed securities, mortgage servicing rights, and other credit-related assets.

This role will be within our subsidiary, Silver Hill Capital which is a national commercial real estate lender specializing in small-balance commercial and investor property financing solutions. The firm provides flexible loan programs, including bridge loans and DSCR financing, to support real estate investors and small business owners across the United States. Headquartered in Coral Gables, Florida, Silver Hill Capital works closely with mortgage brokers to deliver efficient, relationship-driven lending solutions. The company has funded billions of dollars in loans and built a strong reputation for expertise and responsiveness in the commercial lending market.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Collections Specialist II is responsible for managing a portfolio of consumer loan accounts and engaging directly with borrowers to resolve delinquent balances. This is a highly performance-driven, customer-facing role requiring strong sales, negotiation, persuasion, and closing skills.

The ideal candidate brings experience in a similar high-volume sales environment, with a demonstrated ability to build rapport quickly, uncover customer needs and financial circumstances, overcome objections, and successfully drive customers toward a commitment.

Our Collections Specialist II is expected to operate within all company policies and regulatory requirements while consistently working to maximize collections, improve resolution rates, and minimize loan losses.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a portfolio of delinquent consumer loan accounts, conducting high-volume inbound and outbound outreach with a strong focus on driving successful payment outcomes.
  • Confidently ask for and secure payment commitments, using strong objection-handling, negotiation, and closing techniques to move customers toward actionable payment solutions.
  • Assess customer motivations, financial circumstances, and account history to determine the most effective collection strategy and negotiate repayment plans, settlements, or payment arrangements within established guidelines.
  • Clearly communicate loan balances, payment options, interest, fees, account status, and consequences of continued delinquency.
  • Proactively follow up on payment commitments, required documentation, and unresolved accounts, maintaining ownership through completion and resolution.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of borrower interactions, commitments, follow-up activity, and account updates within servicing systems.
  • Consistently meet or exceed individual performance goals, including call activity, dollars collected, payment commitments, kept promises, account resolution rates, and quality standards.
  • Manage assigned accounts with a strong sense of urgency, accountability, and ownership while maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, and company requirements.
  • Collaborate with management and team members on challenging accounts and strategies to improve recovery performance.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong sales, persuasion, negotiation, objection-handling, and closing skills, particularly in a phone-based environment.
  • Confident and persistent, with the ability to ask customers to make financial commitments while balancing a strong sales mentality with professionalism and empathy.
  • Strong listening, discovery, and communication skills with the ability to quickly understand customer circumstances and identify practical solutions.
  • Comfortable working in a goal-oriented, KPI-driven environment with individual production expectations and accountability for measurable results.
  • Strong follow-up, organization, and multitasking skills with the ability to manage a portfolio in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential financial information responsibly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM, loan servicing, collections, or similar customer management systems preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in a commissioned, quota-driven, or production-based sales environment strongly preferred.
  • Candidates may come from collections, loss mitigation, financial services, lending, insurance, customer retention, account management, or inside sales backgrounds.
  • Previous collections experience is helpful but not required for candidates with a strong demonstrated sales background and track record of meeting or exceeding individual performance goals.

LOCATION & COMPENSATION

  • This role is available as fully remote but if candidate is found within Coral Gables or Fort Lauderdale FL area preferred.
  • For reference our business hours are Monday – Friday, 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM (EST); there is occasionally need for work outside of these hours based on business needs.
  • The base salary for this position will be between $25 - $35/hr with a monthly bonus performance-based incentive opportunity available outside of salary base.
