JOB SUMMARY
The Business Development Representative develops and implements tactical strategies to increase customers and expand sales. This role partners with management to achieve new business revenue objectives.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develops strategies pertaining to the tactical implementation of marketing plans and long-range goals to achieve new large-scale jobs (GC lists, pre-bids meetings, etc:) and expanded/new business with existing customers. Recommends courses of action to meet the company's long-range goals.
• Conducts business presentations. Assists in developing sales proposals as needed. Provides input/directs creative designs.
• Works with all teams on new project strategies.
• Participates in key sales events and trade shows to represent/market product/ production capabilities to increase market share. Provides feedback to core team. Develops new business and expands business with existing customers.
• Develops and maintains customer and vendor relationships. Follow up on lost opportunities. Work with Project Management to ensure customers have representation.
• Participates in large-scale projects as needed.
• Works with Estimating to ensure bids go out as requested.
• Works with Project Management to ensure customers have representation.
• Works with internal marketing to develop ideas regarding website and promoting our company name.
• Maintains knowledge of industry trends.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Requires knowledge of marketing and sales terminology, theories, concepts, and practices. Includes the ability to research and write sales plans/proposals and an understanding of graphic design. This is normally acquired through a bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related.
• Two (2) years of previous management experience a plus.
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Email.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Knowledge of Job Shop preferred.
Preferred Skills
• 10% domestic travel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build rapport with internal and external personnel and foster good working relationships.
• Ability to formulate strategic marketing/sales plans and accomplish goals through non-direct reports.
