Job Duties:
The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh invites applications for a full-time Graphic Designer within the Department of Marketing. In this role, you will conceptualize, design, and produce high-quality visual content that advances the university's strategic communications, marketing, and storytelling goals across a wide range of platforms and audiences.
Working in a collaborative, creative environment, you will capture the breadth of campus life-from academic achievements and student stories to athletic events, institutional announcements, and community partnerships.
Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Analyzes and identifies cost effective options to meet project requirements
  • Creates, designs, and produces artwork per project specifications through various mediums
  • Works collaboratively with other creative professionals, engages in and responds to creative feedback, manages project workflow and timing, maintains files, and follows established work unit processes
  • Applies creative expertise within established brand and style guidelines
  • Answers questions and provides information and problem resolution options to clients and stakeholders
  • Conceptualizes, plans, and executes digital and/or print design to support the strategic objectives of the institution; creates on-brand, compelling visual assets used to inform, educate, inspire, and/or persuade.
  • Schedules logistics, secures resources, organizes, and monitors art production projects adhering to established timelines and expectations

Required Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in graphic design, including print and digital production.
  • Proficiency in professional design software (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, or equivalent).
  • Strong working knowledge of typography, layout, color theory, and image production across diverse formats.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively with diverse campus and community constituents.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to on- and off-campus locations as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a higher education, nonprofit, or agency environment.
  • Knowledge of motion graphics, animation, or video production.
  • Experience with UX/UI design or web-based design tools (e.g., Figma, Canva for Enterprise).
  • Familiarity with environmental or large-format print production.
  • Photography skills to supplement design assignments as needed.
  • Portfolio demonstrating range across social content, long-form publications, event materials, and brand campaigns.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communications, fine arts, or a related field-OR-an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
