This job post has expired today. Applications are no longer accepted.

Job description

Team Red Dog is hiring a Graphic Designer – Microsoft 365 Templates for our client, a design-forward technology client and global productivity and collaboration leader. In this fully remote (OR and CA candidates preferred) contract role, you'll create polished, customer-ready templates, presentations, documents, and Excel workbooks that help millions of Microsoft 365 users communicate more effectively. Working at the intersection of graphic design, productivity software, and AI, you'll apply exceptional typography, layout, visual storytelling, and template design expertise to produce scalable, accessible content while collaborating with cross-functional teams to shape the next generation of Microsoft 365 experiences. This is an outstanding opportunity for a designer who enjoys transforming creative concepts into production-ready assets that combine visual excellence with real-world usability.

Top Required Skills (Must Haves):

  1. Graphic Design (2–4 years) – Professional experience designing presentations, templates, documents, and spreadsheets with exceptional typography, layout, visual hierarchy, composition, and attention to detail.
  2. Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel – Advanced experience creating polished, reusable templates, formatting complex content, and producing customer-ready files that are accessible, scalable, and easy to customize.
  3. Figma and/or Adobe Creative Cloud with AI Tools – Experience using modern design applications alongside Microsoft Copilot or similar AI tools to improve creative workflows while maintaining human-centered design quality.
  4. Production Design & Template Systems – Strong understanding of reusable layouts, design systems, accessibility standards, quality assurance, and maintaining consistency across high-volume content production.

Opportunity Overview:

Help shape how millions of customers create professional content in Microsoft 365. As part of Microsoft's NextGen Content Team within the Office Shared Organization, you'll design premium templates, presentations, documents, and Excel workbooks that combine outstanding visual design with practical usability. This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of AI-assisted content creation while collaborating with experienced designers, content strategists, and product teams to build polished, customer-focused experiences used around the world.

How you will make an impact:

  • Design high-quality templates for Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Create reusable layouts, visual systems, and scalable design components.
  • Produce polished, customer-ready files with strong typography, spacing, color, imagery, charts, and content hierarchy.
  • Translate creative briefs into visually compelling and technically sound template designs.
  • Ensure files meet accessibility, usability, and Microsoft 365 quality standards.
  • Support production workflows through editing, formatting, quality assurance, and final delivery.
  • Collaborate with designers, content leads, and product partners to refine designs through feedback.
  • Manage multiple design projects while meeting milestones and evolving business priorities.
  • Incorporate AI-assisted workflows where appropriate while maintaining high design quality and human oversight.

The expertise you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Design, Communications, Marketing, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of professional graphic design experience supported by a strong portfolio showcasing presentations, templates, documents, and workbook design.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience using Figma and/or Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Experience with Microsoft Copilot or similar AI-assisted creative tools.
  • Strong understanding of typography, layout, color theory, composition, and visual hierarchy.
  • Experience designing reusable template systems and scalable content.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and document usability best practices.
  • Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience working within established brand guidelines and production design environments is preferred.

What makes a candidate highly successful in this role:

Successful candidates demonstrate exceptional visual design skills backed by a portfolio featuring customer-facing presentations, templates, documents, and Excel workbooks rather than traditional marketing or branding projects. They combine creativity with production discipline, requiring minimal design revisions while consistently delivering polished, accessible files that adhere to technical guidelines and established design systems. Experience creating enterprise or small business content, working within fast-paced collaborative environments, and thoughtfully incorporating AI into creative workflows while maintaining outstanding design quality will distinguish top performers.
