Job description

Job Summary/Objective:

As the Director, Commercial Sales at Neo4j, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth, sales strategy, and revenue generation targeting Digital Native and Commercial Accounts across the United States. In this role, you will lead and mentor a team of Account Executives, overseeing the development and execution of sales initiatives, client relationships, and strategic partnerships. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the graph database landscape, influence industries, and drive innovation.

This is a remote position, but this new hire must be based in the Greater San Francisco Bay, or Chicago areas. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Lead and manage a team of Account Executives, providing guidance, support, and mentorship
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive new business acquisition and expand existing customer relationships nationally. 
  • Drive team performance and productivity, ensuring sales targets and objectives are met and exceeded
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, executives, and stakeholders
  • Navigate complex sales processes and contract negotiations for large deals
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve overall business goals
  • Drive revenue growth and contribute to the company's success in a high-growth environment
  • Leverage your customer-facing skills to engage effectively with executives 
  • Utilize familiarity with cloud service providers, channel partnerships, and knowledge of Database as a Service (DBaaS) and the broader database market to explore growth opportunities

Priorities:

  • Implement metrics, systems, and processes to scale a product sales organization (playbooks, systems, KPIs, comp plans, team operations, forecasting, etc.)
  • Establish a foundation for a scalable enterprise selling motion
  • Streamline the top of the funnel and scale the sales process through operational efficiency
  • Drive net new and expansion growth by leveraging Neo4j's suite of new products to create profitable markets

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in a Management role in Enterprise SaaS sales
  • 3+ years of experience managing digital native accounts 
  • Experience in selling database products
  • Proven track record of success in driving new business and expanding existing customer base
  • Demonstrated success in building, hiring, and scaling large enterprise sales teams
  • Experience operating in a high-growth business environment
  • Excellent customer-facing skills, with the ability to establish and maintain strong relationships
  • Proficiency in navigating complex contract structures and handling large seven-figure deals
  • Strong history of quota attainment and exceptional performance within a high-achieving team

  • Familiarity or proficiency with cloud service providers and channel partnerships
  • Knowledge of Database as a Service (DBaaS) and the broader database market
