Job description

The Radiation Oncology Dosimetry team supports the delivery of safe and effective radiation therapy by performing precise treatment planning and dose calculations. This group plays a critical role in ensuring quality assurance and compliance with institutional and departmental standards, contributing to optimal patient outcomes through collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. The primary purpose of the Medical Dosimetrist is to perform external beam treatment planning and dose calculations for radiation therapy patients.

This role also supports quality assurance activities and chart reviews to ensure safe and effective treatment delivery. The dosimetrist collaborates with clinical teams and mentors others to promote excellence in care and continuous professional development. The ideal candidate holds a degree in medical dosimetry or a related field and demonstrates strong clinical competencies in external beam treatment planning and dose calculations.

They are proficient in quality assurance processes and electronic chart management. This candidate brings critical thinking skills, self-motivation, and a commitment to mentoring and continuous learning. Experience in a radiation oncology setting and familiarity with institutional guidelines and procedures are highly valued.

WORK EXPERIENCE : May substitute required education with four years of current and continuous medical dosimetry experience.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS Required: CMD - Certified Medical Dosimetrist Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) within four years of job entry.
