Job description

The Senior Reimbursement Analyst is key organizational resource responsible for providing critical analytical, review and reimbursement support for reimbursement functions including Medicare, Medicaid, or other third-party cost reports, related audits, appeals, disproportionate share hospital (DSH) logs, and drug discount program (340B) support. The responsibility includes budget analysis and forecasting of net patient service revenue in alignment with state regulatory processes.

This position is responsible for both governmental and commercial payer reimbursement modeling for financial statement cycle thus requiring analyst to stay current with all government regulatory changes and Federal and State proposals to changes in reimbursement methodologies and payment systems.  Based on these changes, coordinate adjustments to third-party reserves and summarize the reimbursement impact on the organization.

This Analyst is also responsible for overseeing, organizing, and optimizing accountable care organizations (ACO) and other payment reform proposal data that will drive strategic decisions for the organization. 

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting or a related area or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Masters degree preferred.

Minimum Work Experience

  • 5 or more years of experience in health care reimbursement is required. 
  • Advanced report writing experience such as Business Objects or Tableau
  • Experience with CMS regulatory reporting such as Cost Report

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Advanced report writing and analytical skills.
  • Experience using reporting platforms, including Business Objects and Tableau preferred.
  • Experience with Medicare Cost Report filings and audits. 
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement and industry standard metrics.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Desktop application skills (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote).
  • Demonstrates the ability to set goals and adhere to strict deadlines.

Pay Range: $35.37 - $51.53
