Overview
CIS Secure, for its Intrepid Solutions operating company, is currently supporting the National Air & Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) providing IT support services across multiple contract task orders. This is a NEW MULTI-YEAR contract. The program supports diverse needs providing employees many opportunities for career development, growth and advancement. To continue to excel this program, CIS Secure is seeking an AWS Cloud / Virtual Infrastructure Technician for its Intrepid Solutions operating company to provide support to the NASIC IT infrastructure. A qualified AWS Cloud/ Virtual Infrastructure Technician will provision, administer, troubleshoot, and sustain enterprise virtual infrastructure in AWS. The ideal candidate will have strong systems-administration fundamentals and hands-on experience with AWS, Windows and/or Linux, Active Directory, networking, and scripting. This is an entry-to-mid-level position with opportunities to expand into cloud automation, Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, identity management, and Zero Trust technologies.
Responsibilities
  • Provision, configure, administer, and troubleshoot AWS EC2 instances and Amazon WorkSpaces running Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Use Ansible to automate virtual-machine provisioning, operating-system configuration, software deployment, and routine administration.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft Active Directory, including users, groups, computers, authentication, permissions, and domain integration.
  • Manage Windows and Linux systems using AWS Systems Manager (SSM), including hybrid activation, patching, inventory, remote administration, and configuration management.
  • Support NFS and SMB file systems using AWS storage services, including EFS and FSx.
  • Apply working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTPS, SSH, LDAP, and related infrastructure protocols to troubleshoot systems and connectivity.
  • Develop and maintain administrative automation using PowerShell and Bash.
  • Monitor systems, troubleshoot operational issues, and document configurations, procedures, and corrective actions.

OPERATING HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS:
  • This is a 100% onsite, full time position. The standard operating hours are: Monday - Friday, unless otherwise indicated during the interview process.

TRAVEL
  • Position does not require travel.

Qualifications
CLEARANCE:
  • Active Top Secret / SCI. ***TS/SCI required upon application for initial consideration. This position is not open for any clearance upgrades, reactivation, or sponsorship.***

EDUCATION:
  • Master's degree in this functional area, or;
  • Bachelor's degree with three (3)+ years of experience, or;
  • Eight (8) or more years of experience directly involving engineering.

CERTIFICATION(S):
  • Possess active IAT Level II (Security+, or equivalent) Certification.
  • Amazon Web Services certified Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator (If one does not hold a AWS Solutions Architect or SysOps Administrator certification at the time of application, then it will be required within 180 days of on-boarding).

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and virtual machines, or comparable enterprise virtualization technologies.
  • Hands-on experience administering Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and domain-based authentication.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, HTTPS, SSH, and common infrastructure services.
  • Experience with PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in an enterprise environment with established security, configuration-management, and change-control processes.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Amazon EKS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Helm.
  • Ansible/AWX automation and configuration management.
  • Git/GitLab and infrastructure-as-code repositories.
  • Harbor or other OCI-compliant container registries.
  • Containerized services and platforms such as Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Keycloak, OIDC, SAML, and federated SSO.
  • AppGate SDP or other Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) technologies.
  • Enterprise Red Hat Linux and Windows Server administration.
