Remote Google Bigquery information

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working remotely with Google BigQuery, and how can they be addressed?

One common challenge remote Google BigQuery professionals face is optimizing query performance while managing cost, since inefficient queries can quickly increase expenses. Collaboration with distributed teams can also be tricky, especially when aligning on data schema changes or troubleshooting issues across time zones. To address these, it's helpful to establish clear documentation practices, use version control for SQL scripts, and schedule regular check-ins with team members. Leveraging Google BigQuery's built-in monitoring and cost control tools also helps maintain project efficiency and budget constraints.

Now is the time to bring your expertise to Insight. We are not just a tech company; we are a people-first company. We believe that by unlocking the power of people and technology, we can accelerate transformation and achieve extraordinary results. As a Fortune 500 Solutions Integrator with deep expertise in cloud, data, AI, cybersecurity, and intelligent edge, we guide organizations through complex digital decisions.
About the role
Role Overview
As the AI GTM Specialist, Data & Analytics you will be the primary catalyst for driving Insight's Google Solution Line Data and Generative AI business through our partnership with Google Cloud. You aren't just selling a platform; you are architecting the future of enterprise intelligence.
You will work hand-in-hand with Insight's sales account executives to hunt for new opportunities, design cutting-edge AI solutions, and demystify the power of Gemini and Vertex AI for C-suite stakeholders. Your mission is to turn abstract AI potential into concrete, revenue-generating reality.
Key Responsibilities
  • Sales Enablement & Execution: Partner with Insight sales teams to identify and qualify high-value Data/AI opportunities within their existing customer base.
  • Solution Architecting: Lead discovery workshops to design end-to-end data strategies, focusing on platforms like BigQuery for data warehousing and Vertex AI for model orchestration, and their integration into Gemini Enterprise.
  • GenAI Evangelism: Act as the subject matter expert on Gemini and Large Language Models (LLMs), helping customers move from "AI-curious" to "AI-first" through tailored Proofs of Concept (PoCs).
  • GTM Strategy: Develop and execute a joint go-to-market plan with Insight field sales, including webinars, executive briefings, and industry-specific solution plays.
  • Technical Bridge: Serve as the liaison between Insight's technical delivery teams and Google Cloud's internal product engineering teams to ensure customer requirements are met.

Core Competencies
Area
Focus
Generative AI
Deep understanding of LLMs, Prompt Engineering, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), and fine-tuning models within Vertex AI.
Data Analytics
Expertise in modernizing legacy data stacks into BigQuery, including Looker integration and data governance.
Strategic Selling
Ability to navigate "Value-Based Selling" rather than just feature-dumping; focusing on ROI and business outcomes.
Partner Ecosystem
Understanding the nuances of working with a Global Systems Integrator (GSI) like Insight to drive "co-sell" motions.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 10+ years of professional experience in technical sales, solution architecture, or digital transformation consulting.
  • Domain Expertise: At least 5 years specifically focused on Data Engineering, Analytics, or Machine Learning.
  • Cloud Fluency: Proven track record with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is highly preferred. Experience with AWS or Azure is a plus, provided there is a willingness to master the Google stack immediately.
  • The "Human" Factor: Exceptional presentation skills. You can explain the difference between a vector database and a standard table to a CEO without making their eyes glaze over.
  • Education: B.S. in Computer Science, Data Science, MBA, or equivalent practical experience in the field.

What Success Looks Like in Year 1
  1. Pipeline Growth: Scaling the Insight-led Data & AI pipeline by 30% through proactive engagement.
  2. Strategic Wins: Closing at least 3 "lighthouse" GenAI projects using Gemini that serve as case studies for the partnership.
  3. Certification: Becoming a Google Cloud Certified Professional Data Engineer or Machine Learning Engineer (if not already held).

Why This Role?
This is a rare opportunity to represent Google Cloud's most advanced technology while leveraging the massive market reach of Insight. You will have a front-row seat to the AI revolution, with the resources of a tech giant and the agility of a specialized sales team.
Note to Candidates: We aren't looking for someone to just read slides. We want a builder, a closer, and a visionary who understands that data is the fuel, but AI is the engine.
