Job description

Reporting to the Director, Global Payroll, the Sr, Global Employment Tax is the operational lead for payroll-related employment tax matters worldwide. This role sits within the Payroll organization and helps ensure end-to-end tax compliance across pay, benefits and statutory reporting. You'll lead the global employment tax lifecycle, from advising on new programs and benefits to managing filings, audits and tax authority inquiries across multiple jurisdictions.

What you'll do:

  • Lead global employment tax operations, ensuring accurate and timely compliance for payroll, benefits and required statutory filings across all countries where we operate.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for employment tax audits and authority inquiries, partnering directly with federal, state, local and international tax authorities to resolve issues and reduce financial and compliance risk.
  • Build and maintain clear tracking and governance processes for global tax audits, disputes, notices, deadlines and year-end reporting requirements.
  • Partner with Benefits and Total Rewards to review new employee programs, compensation structures and fringe benefits so they're implemented in a tax-compliant and efficient way.
  • Oversee employment tax compliance for foreign worker and special tax regimes, including inbound and expatriate arrangements, ensuring accurate setup and ongoing administration.
  • Support global year-end employment tax reporting, including forms such as W-2s, P11Ds and other required filings, to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery in each region.
  • Monitor changes in employment tax laws and reporting requirements globally, and translate those changes into payroll process, controls and system updates.
  • Use data, automation and AI to accelerate issue spotting, summarize tax changes, improve audit readiness and reduce manual effort, while applying judgment and verification to ensure accuracy and quality.

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in global employment tax and payroll compliance across multiple countries.
  • Experience in US and international employment tax rules, including fringe benefits, equity compensation and social security obligations.
  • Experience in leading employment tax audits, responding to tax notices and working directly with authorities such as the IRS, HMRC, ATO and similar agencies.
  • Experience in leading complex compliance cycles, including global year-end reporting and statutory employment tax filings.
  • Experience in partnering cross-functionally with Payroll, Finance, HR, Legal, Tax and external advisors to solve issues and drive compliant outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI to improve the speed and quality of analysis, documentation and compliance workflows, with a clear approach to validating accuracy and protecting sensitive data.
  • Strong judgment, attention to detail and ownership, with a consistent approach to identifying risk, resolving issues and improving processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, a related field or equivalent experience.
