We are seeking a talented Lead Software Engineer to join our team. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and deploying software applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Your Responsibilities on the Team
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders (product owners, UX researchers, data team, QA team, project managers, cross team leads and designers) to understand functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Promote a collaborative team environment and work closely with colleagues to achieve business objectives.
  • Responsible for planning work estimation and forecasting.
  • Adhere to architecture, design, implementation, security standards and best practices.
  • Investigate and propose solutions to development and design problems.
  • Conduct analysis to determine integration needs, and design and plan integrations.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including software design evaluation plans and test results.
  • Write high-quality code that satisfies customer needs and strives for simplicity, clarity, and testability.
  • Implement unit and integration tests and conduct functional and performance testing where appropriate.
  • Participate in code reviews or use collaborative programming techniques to promote high quality business outcomes.
  • Develop reusable software building blocks to enable faster delivery.
  • Improve performance of existing software by diagnosing and resolving critical issues.
  • Establish development practices and processes.
  • Manage and mentor software engineers
    Lead full-stack delivery across Python and FastAPI backend services and TypeScript and React frontend applications, including AWS infrastructure deployed via Terraform and GitHub Actions.
  • Direct AI coding agents (Cursor, Claude, or similar) to accelerate development while owning code quality and review standards.

Requirements
  • Master's degree in computer science and worked at a company for 5+ years with web technology stack and web standards.

OR
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems or equivalent degree and worked at a company for 7+ years with web technology stack and web standards
  • Growth mindset and a willingness to learn new skills, technologies, and frameworks.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Proven track record for managing a team of developers to achieve company goals.
  • Proven track record for architecting, scaling and implementing complex technical solutions.
  • Proven track record of leadership in Agile environments, with excellent communication and collaboration skills, and a passion for mentoring and empowering team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing.
  • Strong expertise in JavaScript (7+ years) with deep understanding of advanced principles of client-side and server-side development.
  • High proficiency in React.js (5+ years), with a solid background in building performant UI components with modern hooks and design patterns.
  • Strong command of semantic HTML and modern CSS, including CSS-in-JS with a focus on accessibility, SEO, and responsive design principles.
  • Proficiency in Next.js, TypeScript, and GraphQL, demonstrating the ability to architect and implement robust front-end solutions.
  • Knowledge in building and tooling processes such as CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and package managers, coupled with extensive experience in debugging and troubleshooting complex issues.
  • Demonstrated use of AI coding agents (Cursor, Claude, or similar) in daily development with strong judgment on when to trust, verify, or override their output and ownership of code quality.
  • Track record of setting and enforcing a CI quality gate across multiple repositories (typecheck, lint, format, test, build) and working in issue-driven GitHub workflows.
