Who we are looking for...


We are seeking a Senior Geospatial Solutions Consultant who will serve as a client-facing project leader for Geospatial Technologies (GST) GIS and asset management solutions at England-Thims & Miller, Inc. (ETM). This role owns some of GST's highest-value client accounts, carries financial accountability for assigned projects, and provides technical and professional mentorship to the rest of the Geospatial Technologies team. The Senior Geospatial Solutions Consultant partners closely with leadership, peers and staff to ensure delivery of wholistic, technically sound, and in-scope/in-budget projects to our clients. The following skills will be required for this position:

Technical Expertise

  • Serve as a senior technical authority on GIS & Asset Management solutions.
  • Review client environments and provide strategic insight and recommendations for improvement.
  • Oversee the deployment, administration and configuration of Esri solutions like ArcGIS Online (AGOL), Experience Builder, Dashboards, Field Maps, Survey123 and more...
  • Oversee and provide technical guidance for integrating GIS data with Asset Management platforms for a range of asset types like stormwater, streets, sign, traffic, etc...
  • Provide best-practice guidance and technical mentorship to Consultants, Analysts, and technical staff.

Client Facing

  • Own client relationships ensuring we meet client priorities.
  • Lead internal, client kickoff calls and facilitate status calls at a regular cadence.
  • Document workflows, notes and technical solutions to translate client needs to technical solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for expanded scope and additional services.
  • Host client training sessions remotely and onsite (Anticipated 2-3x/year).
  • Represent ETM at trade shows, conferences, and industry events. (Anticipated 1-2x/year).
  • Identify new opportunities to sell ETM services: both geospatial and broader ETM services.

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Mentor and provide technical oversight to Geospatial Consultants and Analysts.
  • Review and quality-control (QC) deliverables produced by junior team members prior to client distribution.
  • Partner on cross-functional initiatives that blend traditional GIS/EAM delivery with emerging technologies.
  • Contribute to internal best-practice standards and SOPs.
  • Maintain consistent education on new GIS product releases, enhancements and security updates. Advise internal and external staff as appropriate.

Project & Financial Management

  • Lead and assist in scoping efforts for new and existing portfolio of projects (as assigned).
  • Create and assign projects tasks, set Level of Effort (LOE) for technical staff and monitor time against budget.
  • Review, approve, and manage invoicing for assigned accounts - taking ownership of the full financial lifecycle.
  • Work alongside the GST management team to report client successes, issues, scoping and strategy across all stakeholders.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in geography, geographic information systems (GIS), engineering, computer science, or related field
  • Minimum of six (6) years' experience in deploying GIS/EAM applications.
  • Minimum of two (2) years leading projects with GIS/EAM applications.
  • Experience administering and configuring Enterprise Asset Management software (OpenGov, Cityworks, etc...)
  • Experience administering and configuring AGOL (ArcGIS Online)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • GIS Professional (GISP) certification.
  • Master's degree in geography, GIS, engineering, computer science, or related field.
  • ArcGIS Enterprise (deployment and administration).
  • Python, Arcade, Java, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with SQL.

Work Requirements:

  • Approximately 30 days a year may be required for client site visits and professional organizations.
  • Typical Schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM in office or remote availability.

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent accounts of varying size and complexity, from small single-scope engagements to large enterprise municipal clients.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to visualize, present, and translate geospatial information for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Works independently with minimal guidance; exercises sound judgment on when to escalate.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and bring a new perspective to existing solutions to improve performance.
  • Ability to interpret internal and external needs for geospatial solutions and translate them into technical direction for delivery teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
