• Rapidly build rapport with students and their families, employing effective communication techniques to create a safe, supportive environment.
• Work collaboratively with behavioral health and primary care teams to provide exemplary patient care, ensuring continuity in treatment.
• Conduct developmentally appropriate screenings for mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, and substance abuse, followed by appropriate referrals to additional resources as necessary.
• Develop and manage a caseload of students requiring ongoing support, providing brief interventions aligned with best practices in behavioral health.
• Utilize electronic medical records to document patient encounters within 48 hours, maintaining accurate, timely, and informative health records.
• Formulate and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, family members, and other health professionals to promote coordinated care.
• Participate in regular supervision, case conferences, and departmental meetings to enhance service quality and contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives.
• Actively refer students to psychiatric consultations when required, ensuring comprehensive mental health care.
• Return communication promptly with patients, families, and other stakeholders concerning appointments and concerns, demonstrating a commitment to responsive care.
• Identify, connect, and support students in accessing diverse community resources that align with their personal goals and interests.
• Perform additional duties as required to promote effective, quality healthcare services.

In this role, you will primarily support a diverse youth population within the school system, many of whom come from underserved and economically challenged backgrounds. You will utilize a culturally competent framework to address their unique challenges, fostering resilience and encouraging positive behavioral health outcomes. Your interventions will play a critical role in reducing stigma and promoting mental wellness within the school community.

• A Master's degree in a relevant Behavioral Health field.
• LCSW certification is mandatory.
• Current CPR or BLS certification.
• A minimum of three to five years of experience in the behavioral health field, with a focus on youth services preferred.
• Demonstrated cultural competence with the BCHC target population, an understanding of challenges facing underserved communities, and the ability to provide support in a sensitive manner.
• Experience working within a trauma-informed and social justice framework to promote mental health among vulnerable populations.
• Proficient use of electronic health technologies for patient management and data analysis.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is an advantage.

• Experience working within school systems or with youth in educational settings.
• Knowledge of community resources and systems that can support students' holistic care.
• Background in delivering evidence-based interventions for a variety of mental health conditions.
• Familiarity with interdisciplinary team dynamics and the shared decision-making process.
