Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of families, identifying emotional and behavioral issues that impact their functioning and overall quality of life.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that encapsulate strategies for addressing identified concerns, incorporating the unique cultural backgrounds and values of each family.
  • Guide clients through the therapeutic process, utilizing evidence-based practices to facilitate effective communication, conflict resolution, and emotional healing.
  • Offer psychoeducation to families about the implications of certain behaviors and choices, helping them understand and modify negative patterns.
  • Employ techniques such as family mapping, solution-focused therapy, and cognitive behavioral strategies to promote family cohesion and stability.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The clients you will work with include a diverse range of families and couples, each facing their unique challenges. Our service population encompasses individuals struggling with relationship issues, parenting difficulties, grief, trauma, and other mental health concerns. This role emphasizes cultural competency, as you will be required to adapt therapeutic approaches to align with the distinct backgrounds and life experiences of each family you encounter.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Active and unrestricted license to practice as an LMFT in the state of Tennessee, meeting all state-mandated licensing requirements.
  • Strong clinical skills with a solid understanding of family systems theory and evidence-based family therapy practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to client interactions and treatments.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience working in a community health clinic or similar mental health settings.
