Job description

Senior Estimator

Rebellion Fabrication
Elkhorn, Nebraska | Full-time | Hybrid (1–2 remote days/week)

Rebellion Fabrication is a structural and architectural steel fabricator and one of the region's fastest-growing shops. We don't compete on volume—we compete on solving the jobs that others won't touch. Complex structures. Specialty fabrication. Impossible schedules. If there's a difficult steel problem to solve, that's exactly where we want to be.

We run on EOS. Our values are simple and we mean them: Excellence. Thrive or Die. Teamwork.

We're not looking for someone to simply count steel and submit bids. We're looking for an estimator who thinks like a builder, asks better questions than anyone else in the room, and sees opportunities where others only see missing information.

The Role

Our estimators play a critical role long before fabrication ever begins. You're helping determine whether we pursue work, how we execute it, and whether it becomes profitable. You'll partner closely with project managers, detailers, vendors, erectors, suppliers, and general contractors to develop complete, accurate estimates—even when the drawings leave plenty to be figured out.

This is an ownership role. We aren't interested in someone who simply follows takeoff software. We want someone who understands construction, identifies risk early, challenges assumptions, and builds estimates that our operations team can confidently execute.

What You'll Own

Complex structural steel and miscellaneous metals estimates from concept through proposal.

Relationships with general contractors, engineers, architects, detailers, erectors, fabricators, vendors, and suppliers to develop accurate buyout pricing and execution strategies.

Finding clarity where bid documents leave questions—asking the right questions, making informed assumptions, and helping customers define scope.

Supporting design-build, negotiated, conceptual, and hard-bid opportunities while balancing multiple pursuits simultaneously.

Helping strengthen and continuously improve our estimating processes as our company continues to grow.

Who Thrives Here

You enjoy solving problems more than simply following plans.

You don't get frustrated when drawings are incomplete—you get curious.

You're comfortable making decisions with imperfect information because you understand construction and know how projects actually get built.

You communicate confidently with customers, vendors, and field teams and naturally build trust with the people around you.

You value accountability, precision, and teamwork. You're humble enough to ask questions, confident enough to defend your numbers, and experienced enough to know where risk hides.

Most importantly, you want to be part of a company where your work directly impacts the projects we win and the future we're building.

What We're Looking For
  • 5–10+ years estimating structural steel, miscellaneous metals, or commercial construction
  • Strong understanding of structural, architectural, and civil drawings
  • Experience with conceptual, negotiated, and hard-bid estimating
  • Bluebeam proficiency required
  • Experience with Tekla PowerFab, FabSuite, FabTrol, or similar fabrication software is a plus
  • Strong communication skills with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Construction Management or related degree preferred—but proven experience matters more than a diploma
What We Offer

You'll join a company that's growing quickly, investing heavily in its people, and tackling some of the most challenging steel projects in the country.

You'll have autonomy, flexibility, leadership that trusts you, and the opportunity to help shape how we estimate increasingly complex work. We believe great estimators are builders before anything else—and we give them the freedom to think that way.

Compensation is competitive and based on experience, with benefits and additional details shared throughout the interview process.

Rebellion Fabrication is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
