Location: Remote
Reports to: Manager, Solar Engineering
Compensation: $115,000-$135,000, bonus eligible

Job Summary
Reporting to the Solar Engineering Manager, the incumbent will plan and organize engineering activities to optimize Solar facilities. More specifically, the Solar Engineer will have the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities
  • Optimize strategies for operating facilities and support repower
  • Coordinate with internal teams and third-party engineering firms for special projects.
  • Participate in development of RFP's, specifications and drawings, proposal review and contract award, tendering phase, quality assurance and finalization.
  • Support with contract administration to ensure compliance with permits, policies and codes.
  • Act as an engineering project manager for projects assigned.
  • Assist in capital and maintenance budget preparation and prioritize, plan and schedule of work budgeted.
  • Support with development, revision and quality control of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programs, policies and procedures.
  • Review the preventive and corrective maintenance reports to ensure compliance and identify issues.
  • Assist self-perform teams in troubleshooting and repair, and equipment selection of solar equipment.
  • Propose improvements and evaluate new technologies to minimize operating costs, risk and potential losses and maximize potential generation.
  • Perform site audits and work with contractors and self-perform teams to improve the health of the sites.
  • Demonstrate a strong alignment with corporate values, including health, safety, security and environmental policy.

Requirements
  • Excellent inter personnel and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team and to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and planning, prioritizing and organizing abilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications.
  • A strong personal commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Values excellence in safety and environmental
  • Travel Expectation: 15-35%

Qualifications
  • BS Degree in Engineering, electrical preferred
  • 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in Solar Operations & Maintenance, Development or Construction.
  • Familiarity with applicable OSHA standards
  • Experience in Energy Storage technologies is an asset.
  • Knowledge of National Electric Code, PVSyst, and other modeling software
