Work EnvironmentAs a remote mental health counselor, you will work from the comfort of your home, participating in telehealth sessions with clients from various backgrounds. Our flexible scheduling accommodates a Monday to Friday workweek, with standard office hours from 9 AM to 5 PM. This remote work setting allows for a balanced work-life dynamic while enabling you to focus on delivering high-quality mental health services through digital platforms. We use secure and user-friendly telehealth software, ensuring that you can provide care efficiently and confidentially.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand clients' mental health needs and develop tailored therapy plans that reflect their unique circumstances and objectives.
- Facilitate therapy sessions with individuals, couples, and families, employing a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches to promote healing and growth.
- Support clients in goal-setting and progress tracking, adjusting therapeutic strategies as necessary to meet their evolving needs.
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes to comply with ethical and legal standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, staying informed about the latest research, trends, and advancements in mental health counseling.
This role requires you to engage with a diverse client population, encompassing individuals from various age groups, backgrounds, and presenting concerns. Your work will often address issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, and other mental health challenges. You will practice cultural competence and sensitivity to build trust and rapport with clients, ensuring that they feel understood and supported throughout their therapy journey.
Qualifications- A Master's degree or higher in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- A valid and active Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) license to practice in Vermont.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse client populations in various therapeutic settings.
- Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic frameworks, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or similar approaches.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
- Proficiency in utilizing telehealth technology and maintaining professionalism in a virtual setting.
- At least two years of clinical experience in a counseling role, particularly in telehealth or remote services.
- Previous experience with treatment planning and outcome measurement in a structured therapeutic setting.
- Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams or mental health professionals to coordinate care for clients.
