This is a (1) year contract opportunity with one of Arctiq's client. Candidates can work remotely in US or Canada.


We are seeking an experienced Application Developer with strong expertise in Java and PHP to support the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of enterprise web applications and backend services. The ideal candidate will have experience developing scalable applications, integrating with enterprise systems, and working within Agile development teams.

This role requires a full-stack mindset, with the ability to contribute across backend development, API integration, database design, and front-end technologies while delivering high-quality, maintainable code.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Java and PHP.
  • Develop scalable web applications and RESTful APIs.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Enhance existing applications by adding new functionality and improving performance.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues.
  • Participate in code reviews and promote development best practices.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database structures.
  • Build integrations with third-party applications and enterprise systems.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for applications and APIs.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Ensure applications follow security, scalability, and performance best practices.


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience developing applications with Java.
  • Strong experience developing web applications using PHP.
  • Experience building RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming principles and software design patterns.
  • Strong understanding of relational database design and SQL.
  • Experience with Git source control.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Spring Boot or Spring Framework.
  • Experience with Laravel, Symfony, or other modern PHP frameworks.
