Job description

Simon-Kucher is building up a central Data & AI function to enable employees with AI solutions and build central AI use cases that ensure that consultants work smarter and better. As a Senior Lead Applied AI Engineer, you will design, build, and operate production-grade internal AI applications that embed Simon-Kucher methods into scalable and reusable capabilities. You will deliver secure and measurable outcomes in terms of quality, adoption, latency, and cost, working in close partnership with AI Product Managers and IT Operations. Furthermore, you will establish foundational engineering patterns across the central Data & AI function, including best practices in testing, evaluation, observability, and deployment. As a core implementation partner to the AI Product Managers, you will translate product roadmaps into robust solutions that can be adopted globally and create lasting impact across the organization.
What makes us special:
  • Become part of a unique entrepreneurial team. Think independently, use your initiative, and take some risks. Entrepreneurship is a powerful force that drives the growth not only of our firm but our clients and people.
  • Unlock the power of opportunity. Advance your career in a thriving company that creates positive impact. We invest in your professional development every step of the way.
  • Enjoy balance and flexible working. Be empowered to do your best work - whether it's remotely or in the office.
  • Work in a values-driven culture. At Simon-Kucher, our vision is to become the world's leading growth specialist. Our values guide the way we do business and communicate our distinctiveness. They sum up what we stand for, influence our culture, and drive how and why we do things.
How you will create an impact:
  • You will design and implement LangGraph/LangChain multi-step workflows (RAG, tool calling, multi-step orchestration, structured outputs).
  • You will integrate with internal data via APIs/connectors and automate end-to-end flows using Power Automate across Microsoft 365.
  • You will build evaluation datasets, define quality metrics, run regression tests, and implement observability/tracing (LangSmith and/or Azure AI Foundry tooling).
  • You will implement guardrails for prompt injection/data exfiltration, handle PII redaction, and align with retention/audit requirements with IT and security stakeholders.
  • You will build reusable libraries (prompt/versioning patterns, artifact generators, question banks, retrieval components) so each use case accelerates the next.
Your profile:
  • You have 4-6+ years of relevant engineering experience (software engineering, ML engineering, or applied AI engineering).
  • You have experience in leading technical projects and take on ownership of technical solutions.
  • You communicate clearly in English (C1+) and can align technical decisions with business constraints.
  • You are strong in Python, including API development and integration patterns.
  • You have deep hands-on experience delivering LLM-based solutions (RAG, tool calling, agentic workflows) with LangChain and/or LangGraph or similar AI orchestration frameworks.
  • You are comfortable with production practices, including testing, code reviews, CI/CD, observability, and operational support.
  • You have a university degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with workflow automation and cloud ecosystems, such as Power Automate or similar platforms as well as the Azure environment (e.g., AI Foundry, Container Apps, Functions), is nice to have.
  • A background in consulting or a solid understanding of professional services delivery models is nice to have.
  • Familiarity with Simon-Kucher's core industry focus areas (pricing, revenue management, market research), or a strong willingness to build relevant domain expertise, is nice to have.
