Job description

Meta is seeking a Partner Engineer for the Wearables platform. As a member of the Wearables team, you'll help 3rd-party developers create integrations with our Wearables platforms, including Meta's smart glasses. This role offers a unique opportunity to directly impact the quality of experiences enjoyed by AI glasses users. You will serve as the primary technical liaison between Meta and strategic partners, helping them execute their vision while providing critical feedback to internal teams to ensure the platform evolves to maximize value for both developers and end users. You are excited about the potential of wearable computing to transform how people interact with technology, and can translate that enthusiasm to support and inspire a new pipeline of developers. You have experience communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences and collaborating cross-functionally with engineering, product, and partner teams, enabling you to collaborate cross-functionally and work side by side with developers every day.
Partner Engineer, Wearables Responsibilities:
  • Inspire, educate and engage early developers on the opportunities in building for Meta's portfolio of AI glasses
  • Work directly with 3rd-party developers to develop engaging integrations for our AI glasses and wearable devices
  • Guide partners through the full technical integration lifecycle, from initial architecture review through launch and post-launch optimization
  • Develop knowledge in and integrate with 3rd-party applications and services
  • Raise the quality of integrations being developed on the platform through user research and collaboration with design teams
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, integration guides, and sample code specific to Meta's wearable SDKs and APIs
  • Collect valuable product feedback and translate partner needs into clear requirements for internal product and engineering stakeholders
  • Prototype potential future features to understand their value and complexity
  • Represent Meta's wearable platform at developer events, partner summits, and technical workshops to drive ecosystem adoption

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a partner-facing role such as partner engineering, technical consulting, or solutions engineering
  • Experience writing production-grade code in a professional environment
  • Experience with iOS or Android mobile development, or integrating with mobile, embedded, or wearable platforms
  • Hands-on UX experience and a passion for quality
  • Experience with AI developer productivity tools (e.g., code generation, testing, and debugging assistants)
  • Experience communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience working independently to solve technical problems, unblock partners, and deliver results with limited guidance
  • Willingness to travel 25% of the time
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of AI/ML principles and applications
  • Experience building or scaling developer ecosystems, including creating technical enablement materials such as codelabs or integration playbooks
  • Experience building and maintaining productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and experience developing strong working relationships inside and outside Meta
  • Experience with wireless connectivity protocols relevant to wearables such as Bluetooth or Wi-Fi
  • Experience with Wearables technology or developing applications for augmented reality, virtual reality, or mixed reality platforms
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Experience with SDK development or building developer-facing tools and libraries
