Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)
Employment Type: 6 Months Contract
Pay Rate: $69.00 and $74.00 per hour

Role Overview
In this contingent resource assignment, you may consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Software Engineering. This role involves reviewing and analyzing complex, multi-faceted, larger-scale or longer-term Software Engineering challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. You will contribute to the resolution of complex situations requiring a solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements to meet deliverables while strategically collaborating with client personnel.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and enhance backend services using Core Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot microservices.
  • Support modernization efforts migrating legacy Java Server Faces applications to a React-based UI.
  • Work on Kafka-based messaging and event-driven architectures.
  • Develop and integrate APIs within a distributed microservices environment.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers supporting React UI implementation.
  • Work with MongoDB and other data sources to support application functionality.
  • Deploy and maintain applications on OpenShift or other cloud platforms.
  • Analyze and refactor legacy code to improve performance and scalability.
  • Participate in Agile/Kanban workflows and support quarterly release cycles.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 5-7 years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, or education.
Technical Skills:
  • Java engineering experience (Core Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Microservices).
  • Backend development experience with Kafka and API/microservices architecture.
  • Experience with React UI and cloud platforms (OpenShift preferred).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with MongoDB and NoSQL databases.
  • Cloud/Kubernetes experience (OpenShift preferred).
  • Financial services or collections domain experience.
  • Ability to work with and modernize legacy Java applications.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $69.00 and $74.00 per hour. The contract length is initially for 6 months with the possibility of extension or conversion.
