Job description

Full Stack Developer (Remote - PST/MST)

The Full Stack Developer is a senior-level contributor who will take ownership of the project forecasting platform, a business-critical .NET and SQL Server application. This role includes transitioning knowledge from the current developer, maintaining and enhancing the system, and owning the design and development of its next-generation platform.

As part of our process after applying, you may receive an invitation from our AI Recruiter Avery for a short conversation that lets you share more about your background beyond your resume. For questions, contact .

  • Job Type: Contract to hire
  • Location: Remote working Pacific time. Must be located in Pacific or Mountain time
  • Compensation: This job is expected to pay about $60 - $70 per hour plus benefits
  • No Visa Sponsorship Available for this role, no C2C

What You'll Do:

  • Complete a structured knowledge transfer of the forecasting platform (a VB.NET client over SQL Server with SSRS reporting) from its original developer before year-end, documenting code, data flows, integrations, and business rules as you go
  • Own day-to-day support, enhancement, and reporting for the platform and its companion financial applications, working directly with the finance team that depends on them
  • Conduct careful impact analysis before changes to production systems, protecting data integrity and the business processes that rely on them
  • Establish modern engineering discipline across the codebase: source control, documented build and release, CI/CD, automated testing, and peer code review
  • Modernize delivery toward a web-based front end, retiring legacy remote-desktop delivery
  • Build and maintain integrations with the company's ERP, reporting, and forecasting layers
  • Serve as a core technical voice in the successor-platform selection and, once selected, build and own the governed custom layer on top of it
  • Set the standard for AI-assisted development: use modern AI tooling in your own work, and establish the practices (review, testing, security, prompt and context discipline) that make it safe and productive for the team
  • Work with a business analyst partner who owns functional requirements and fit-gap decisions, so you can focus on engineering

What Gets You the Job:

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of professional full-stack development on the Microsoft stack, with strong C#/.NET, and the ability to read and maintain VB.NET confidently
  • Deep SQL Server experience: T-SQL, stored procedures, performance tuning, and SSRS report development and support
  • Modern web application experience (ASP.NET Core, Blazor, React, or comparable) building interfaces for data-intensive business workflows
  • Experience designing and consuming APIs and building integrations between business systems
  • Solid relational data modeling, including experience rationalizing or normalizing an existing production schema
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) as part of your daily engineering workflow, with the judgment to review and test AI-generated code to production standards and the ability to define AI-assisted development best practices for a team
  • Prior experience inheriting a production system from a departing developer; legacy-modernization work while keeping the system running strengthens this
  • Demonstrated documentation and source-control discipline (Git); you leave systems more understandable than you found them
  • Strong written and verbal communication, comfortable explaining technical trade-offs to non-technical business partners

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Azure fundamentals (App Service, Azure SQL, Entra ID integrated authentication)
  • ETL or data-pipeline experience (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or similar)
  • Reporting modernization experience (SSRS to Power BI or similar)
  • CI/CD tooling experience (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar)
  • Exposure to AI tools for querying data (RAG patterns, Azure AI Foundry, OpenAI, or similar)
  • Exposure to real estate, construction, or corporate finance domains (forecasting, entity structures, capital tracking)
  • Actual VB.NET authorship experience (a bonus,
