We are a funded, fast-growing startup, and we're looking for a skilled Data Engineer who is excited to build efficient, reliable data flows that power our mission to make healthcare more affordable.

Position Overview

We are seeking an engineer with a primary focus on back-end systems and processes, with an interest in working full-stack. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our cost systems, ensuring seamless integration via API calls and efficient interaction with local databases. You will work closely with product and engineering teams to build thoughtful fault-tolerant systems to deliver a smooth experience for all users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate in the development and integration with databases and backend systems.
  • Collaborate with the team to create a cohesive and effective user experience.
  • Apply our structured software development processes to ensure quality and consistency across all projects.
  • Design with security and scalability in mind, with an eye toward fault tolerance and automated recovery
  • Incorporate OAuth and other authentication methods to secure the application.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years (more valued) using structured software development processes
  • Hands-on experience in Node.js, Next.js/React
  • Proficient in SQL and model/ORM tools (we use Postgres)
  • Some hands-on experience with HTML/CSS, CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap or Tailwind
  • Mobile-responsive experience developing UIs that work well across various browsers, desktops, and mobile devices
  • Experience with OAuth is a plus
Nice to Have
  • Full-Stack:  experience with back-end databases and SQL
  • B2C:  experience developing for end users of diverse backgrounds and technical proficiency
  • Banking/Fintech: experience working with payment flows and processes
  • Cloud/Serverless:  experience operating and deploying in a cloud-based environment (AWS, Vercel, etc)
