Job description

About PushPress
ย
PushPress is the AI-powered gym management platform built for boutique fitness.
ย
We are transforming how boutique fitness owners operate and how the entire $100B global fitness industry connects, transacts, and grows. Trusted by more than 5,000 gyms and 500,000 members, PushPress processes ~$1B annually.
ย
We're a Series B company backed by Altos Ventures, StepStone, and Mucker Capital, and we're going all-in on AI. Our AI Assistant, AI Member Intel, and AI-powered reporting tools are already changing how gym owners and coaches operate. We believe AI should make the human side of fitness better, not replace it.
ย
By embedding intelligence directly into the product, we enable boutique fitness owners to make faster decisions, unlock new revenue streams, and collaborate across a connected network. As more gyms join the platform, data compounds, intelligence strengthens, and the value of the ecosystem increases for every owner.
ย
We are a global team of builders, operators, and fitness fanatics on a mission to level the playing field for independent fitness entrepreneurs. If you are ready to help reshape an industry, let's talk!

About the Role

PushPress, at its core, is a technology company. We're building an elite engineering team that thrives on innovation, collaboration, and shipping impactful, cutting-edge solutions as we scale toward an AI-driven product ecosystem.

We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Product Platform: a full-stack engineer who can ship product features and build the internal systems and tooling that let the rest of engineering move faster. Product Platform sits between product engineering and infrastructure. You'll build things like a webhook platform that powers dozens of customer-facing integrations, an internal changelog system, meaningful improvements to TypeScript build times, or CI/CD upgrades that cut iteration time in half. These systems look and feel like product work. They just happen to have engineers (and the product itself) as the customer.

This is not a traditional SRE or DevOps role. We're not hiring someone to own databases, Kubernetes, or the underlying cloud footprint. We are hiring a product engineer who has touched those things in service of building tools, platforms, and systems that make product engineering faster and better, and who wants to keep doing more of that.

We're especially interested in builders with a strong ownership mindset who are comfortable working across functions and think beyond traditional role boundaries. Experience shipping modern, intelligent products, including AI-powered or agentic systems, is a plus.

What You'll Do
  • Build and ship high-quality, scalable software across our core platform
  • Build internal, product-shaped systems (e.g. webhooks, changelogs, eventing, feature flagging) that power customer-facing capabilities built by other teams
  • Improve the tools, build systems, and CI/CD pipelines the rest of engineering relies on, reducing friction, speeding up iteration, and raising the quality bar
  • Contribute to intelligent product capabilities that leverage data, automation, and AI-driven workflows
  • Create internal APIs, libraries, and frameworks that make it easier for teams to ship reliable, intelligent systems
  • Ship customer-facing product features and integrations when the work calls for it
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and cross-functional partners to deliver end-to-end solutions
  • Take ownership of systems and features from concept through production and iteration
  • Help improve engineering standards, processes, and team culture as we scale
What You'll Need
  • 5 to 10 years of professional full-stack software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping production systems at scale
  • Proficiency across the modern web stack, including JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, Express, React, and Next.js, with depth in backend development, databases, third-party integrations, frontend components, state management, performance optimization, and build tools
  • Experience building engineer-facing systems such as developer tooling, internal platforms, build and CI/CD improvements, or backend services that power other product features. You don't need to have held a "platform" or "infra" title; you do need to have enjoyed this kind of work and shipped meaningful examples of it.
  • Comfort reaching into the underlying stack (cloud, containers, IaC) when needed to support the tools and platforms you build, without needing to own that layer day-to-day
  • Strong programming fundamentals: clean, maintainable, well-tested code
  • Experience with integrations work, or building or contributing to intelligent, data-driven, or AI-enabled products, is a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues across the stack
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a distributed team, build consensus, and influence technical decisions
  • Optional: contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio of personal projects
Why PushPress
  • Build a product from scratch that will impact thousands of fitness businesses
  • Work with the latest AI technologies in a practical, user-focused way
  • Join at the ground floor of an exciting new product initiative
  • Collaborate with a team that values both technical excellence and user impact
  • Learn about our Operating Tenets here: The PushPress Way
Benefits & Perks
  • Equity Incentive Plan
  • Flexible Paid Time Off (and Public Holidays)
  • Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)
  • Retirement Plan (Company Sponsored 401k with Match)
  • Life Insurance
  • Family Leave (Maternity, Paternity)
  • Work From Home Stipend
