Job description

This role will be part of FedEx's North America Bid Management Team with direct Sales and customer interaction. The team is a valuable support resource to help Sales save time and win more business. The team creates highly customized, customer-facing documents based on a customer's RFI/RFP request or Sales business needs.
This position will focus on the global freight forwarding industry tied to FedEx's expansion into global freight forwarding. You will be leading the development and coordination of our bid responses by leveraging the broad solutions and services portfolio and synthesizing non-operations internal ecosystem to build competitive proposals.
Job Description
Designs, develops, implements and maintains innovative and replicable programs/procedures supporting FedEx sales, senior leadership, customers and corporate initiatives creating value and effective strategies for FedEx. Requires the application of innovative specialized/technical skill sets relevant to the role and objectives of the department. Works individually and leads peer and cross functional teams with internal/external customer interaction. Works on multiple complex assignments concurrently. Mentors less sr. staff. Leads brainstorming, review and development of recommendations for highly complex sales/customer/corporate initiatives, recommending best methods. Acts with senior level authority. Presents solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional with 3+ years in global logistics/freight forwarding. Must have experience with RFP/RFQ processes, evaluating commercial requirements, and shaping bid strategy. Proven ability to assess customer needs, translate them into solutions, and collaborate on defining product strategy. Key skills include strong analytics to find solution gaps and proficiency with tender management systems and BI tools for bid tracking and win/loss analysis.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
RFP/RFQ Management: End-to-end coordination of customer tenders - reviewing requirements, gathering data, preparing pricing, and submitting proposals.
Portfolio Analysis: Building detailed models to demonstrate continuous improvement within the freight forwarding services portfolio to compete globally
Cross-functional Collaboration: Liaising with Product Marketing, Operations, Pricing Management, Sales, and Quality to ensure the proposal is operationally feasible and commercially competitive.
Market Research: Monitoring competitor features, market trends, and carrier customer differentiation to ensure competitive bids.
Data Tools & Reporting: Using Excel, tender management systems, and BI tools for bid tracking, reporting, and win/loss analysis. Use of AI tools to research and respond to bids.
Compliance & Quality: Ensuring bids meet internal and customer compliance standards (KPIs bid win rate, turnaround time, and margin accuracy); maintaining bid templates and process documentation.

Location Details - This position is eligible for remote work and may be located anywhere within the United States excluding AK, HI and U.S. territories, however if you live within the 50 miles radius of a campus you will be required to work at a FedEx campus location several times per week.



Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree/equivalent in business or a related field.

Minimum Experience

Five (5) years experience in designing, maintaining, and/or implementation of solutions to complex business situations. Experience is specifically related to the department's specialty.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Advanced and innovative application of skills with business software, spreadsheet applications, and/or graphics or web development.

Ability to plan and work on multiple assignments concurrently.

Ability to present solutions to senior leadership.

Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.


Preferred Qualifications: Experience evaluating customer bid requirements, collaborating across cross functional teams to develop solutions, and identifying solution gaps, supported by solid RFP process knowledge and logistics/freight forwarding experience. Experience partnering with Marketing or Product teams to align bid solutions with product strategy and customer value propositions.

Pay Transparency:

Pay: FEC_E26 $6,511.62 - $10,744.16 monthly

Additional Details: Remote - This position will be hybrid in Memphis, TN, Pittsburgh, PA or Plano, TX. Candidates must live within a 50-mile radius. Employees will be required to work at a FedEx office location up to several times per week.
