Work Environment

This position is 100% remote, allowing for a flexible work-life balance. You will be empowered to create your own schedule and manage your caseload within a supportive framework. Working as an independent contractor, you will benefit from minimized administrative burdens, as our organization provides an administrator to handle the coordination of insurance benefits and eligibility. To succeed in this role, you will need a computer with a reliable internet connection, webcam capability, and a private, quiet space to conduct your sessions.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with clients in providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions that address a variety of mental health conditions.
• Facilitate initial assessments and ongoing therapy sessions, including individual, couple, and family therapy, primarily via telehealth platforms.
• Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each client, ensuring they have measurable goals aligned with their recovery objectives.
• Utilize documentation systems to maintain accurate and timely records of client interactions, treatment progress, and assessments in compliance with federal, state, and organizational standards.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding their progress and any necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
• Provide educational resources and referrals to support clients in their recovery journey and to enhance community integration.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The clientele served by New Haven Youth & Family Services encompasses a wide range of individuals, including children, adolescents, and families facing various challenges. Our focus is on delivering a safe and supportive environment, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and developmental concerns through a variety of therapeutic frameworks. As a counselor, you will play a pivotal role in guiding clients toward recovery while promoting their autonomy and personal growth.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
• An active license as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Washington State.
• A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in therapeutic settings.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage a caseload efficiently and effectively.
• Comfortable using telehealth technologies and maintaining a professional virtual presence.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in outpatient settings with varied mental health diagnoses.
• Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care.
• Experience in conducting individual, family, and group therapy sessions, particularly within a remote framework.
