Job description

Description:

RedMatter Solutions is seeking a Senior Okta Engineer to support a large-scale federal Identity and Access Management (IAM) environment. The Senior Okta Engineer will be responsible for engineering, integrating, automating, and supporting enterprise Okta capabilities within a modern digital identity ecosystem.

The ideal candidate will bring deep hands-on Okta experience, strong knowledge of federal IAM requirements, and experience implementing secure authentication and identity lifecycle solutions using modern DevSecOps practices.

This position is primarily remote/telework; however, occasional onsite support may be required for meetings or other contractual activities.

Requirements:

Responsibilities:

  • Engineer and support Okta solutions within a complex enterprise IAM environment. 
  • Implement SAML, OAuth, OIDC, and WS-Federation integrations. 
  • Develop and maintain identity lifecycle automation, including SCIM provisioning and joiner/mover/leaver (JML) processes. 
  • Integrate multi-forest Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and LDAP environments with Okta Universal Directory. 
  • Implement PIV/CAC and certificate-based authentication solutions. 
  • Use CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to support IAM delivery. 
  • Analyze Okta System Logs to troubleshoot authentication, provisioning, and integration issues. 
  • Support integration of Okta logging with SIEM platforms such as Splunk or Microsoft Sentinel. 
  • Develop and maintain configuration documentation, user stories, backlog items, and operational runbooks. 
  • Work within an Agile product team and collaborate with architects, engineers, security personnel, and customer stakeholders.

 Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years of hands-on Okta engineering experience in enterprise environments. 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience implementing or supporting IAM solutions within federal or public-sector environments. 
  • Hands-on experience implementing SAML, OAuth, OIDC, and WS-Federation integrations. 
  • Experience implementing SCIM provisioning and identity lifecycle/JML automation. 
  • Experience integrating Active Directory, Entra ID, and/or LDAP with Okta. 
  • Experience implementing PIV/CAC or certificate-based authentication. 
  • Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and Infrastructure as Code within IAM environments. 
  • Experience analyzing Okta System Logs and integrating IAM platforms with SIEM solutions. 
  • Working knowledge of ICAM, HSPD-12, FISMA, and Zero Trust principles. 
  • Knowledge of authentication, authorization, identity governance, auditability, and access controls. 
  • Ability to meet federal suitability requirements associated with privileged IAM access. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Okta in a federal enterprise environment. 
  • Experience with Splunk and/or Microsoft Sentinel. 
  • Experience working in Agile digital-service delivery environments. 
  • Okta professional certifications.
