Job description

Food Service Program Manager

Summary:

Plans, organizes and coordinates all phases of food service operations, in accordance with federal policies and regulations.

Essential Functions/Typical Tasks:

  • Oversee all food service programs to ensure that nutritional, high quality meals are made available at an affordable priceโ€ข Supervise managers food services, and administrative handle food services staff job performance and disciplinary issues
  • Interview candidates for food service positions and make recommendations for hiringโ€ข Develop reporting templates prepare necessary reports as required under the contract
  • Ensure accurate accountability and record-keeping for the management and control of income, food, labor, supplies and equipmentโ€ข Oversee the preparation of all reports for federal reimbursement
  • Supervise the receipt, storage and utilization of food, equipment and supplies โ€ข Establish short and long range food service program goalsโ€ข Assist mobile unites in the performance of administrative reviews of the food service program, conduct reviews and supervise reviewsโ€ข Develop, implement and monitor policies, regulations and standard operating procedures relating to food servicesโ€ข Plan and develop the food service budgetโ€ข Perform financial management functions: review and analyze profit/loss statements; approve and coordinate all food and equipment purchasesโ€ข Prepare, evaluate and coordinate bid proposals for food and equipmentโ€ข Provide in-service training for food services staffโ€ข Prepare and publish centralized menus and production sheets for lunch and breakfastโ€ข Review and coordinate work orders
  • Review and coordinate terms of the federal contractโ€ข Establish food safety procedures to ensure that food is prepared and served in a sanitary & safe environmentโ€ข Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Operations that are applicable to this position and in accordance with SGI policies, regulations and procedures

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervises MFSU Managers, Kitchen Managers and all food service under the contract, and

Qualifications/Education And Experience:

Bachelor's degree, or equivalent educational experience, with academic major in specific areas (see last paragraph below in this section for specific areas);ORAssociate's degree or equivalent educational experience, with academic major in specific areas, and at least 2 years of relevant managerial food service programs experience (see last paragraph below in this section for specific areas).

Certificates, License, Registrations:

Food Services Manager Certificate preferred; valid driver's license

Workday:

Full time / Minimum 120 Day Contract
