DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Nutrition and Food Services department supports UW Medicine's mission by delivering extraordinary experiences with compassionate evidence-based care, unforgettable customer service, and fresh and nutritious food for patients, families, and the greater community.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
  • Independently operate a remote food service area / espresso bar
  • Performs routine work in preparing and serving espresso beverages and food items and cleaning activities
  • Performs a variety of duties in the preparation and service of espresso beverages and food items

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The person in this role is highly skilled to lead a high volume independent espresso location.

  • Prepare and serve coffee and espresso;
  • Weigh, prepare, and serve meals;
  • Clean work area and equipment;
  • Take cash payment for meals and drinks;
  • Operate cooking, espresso and kitchen equipment;
  • Assist in maintaining daily stock of work area and weekly inventory;
  • Perform related duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Possession of, or eligible to obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment AND one year of experience preparing and serving food and beverage.
  • Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
