The Data Analystย is responsible forย collecting,ย processingย and analyzing data toย provideย actionable insights that support strategic decision-making.ย ย The roleย serves the division through statistical data analysis,ย identification ofย existing issues,ย and supportingย divisional strategies of process and technology innovation and profitable growth to ensure continued quality improvement and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse. This includes analyzing, interpreting, and visualizing claims, clinical, and/orย operational data from various sources and recommending best approaches for intervention.ย ย ย 
Salary Range
60,000-80,000
The base pay offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on your job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Work Location
Our first consideration will be to have this employee live in the state of Wisconsin to take advantage of Hybrid work and collaboration. Employees within 45 miles of WPS Headquarters (1717 W. Broadway in Madison, WI, 53713) will be expected to be able to be able to work Hybrid 2 days a week on a regular basis.

  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with company and industry standards. ย 

Minimum Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position to comply with CMS regulations.ย 
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.ย 
  • One (1) or more years of experience querying, reshaping, and visualizing data and systems.ย 
  • Proficient with business intelligence/analytical toolsย andย programming languages (e.g.ย R, Python, SAP Business Objects, SQL, Power BI, Snowflake, Databricks).ย 
  • Ability toย interpret analytic results and createย summarizations for presentations.ย 
  • Proficient with MS O365 applications (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).ย 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.ย 
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.ย 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masterโ€™s Degree.
  • Basicย understanding of health insurance systems and the claims processing workflow.ย 
  • Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE, VA, or healthcare claimsย preferred.ย 
  • Experience in a clinical or business data analytics role preferred.ย ย
