Job description

Our client is seeking a seasoned Asset Accountant with deep expertise in fixed asset accounting and hands‑on PowerPlan experience across implementation, configuration, or optimization. This role supports the full lifecycle of capital asset accounting from capitalization and depreciation through reporting, analysis, and compliance—while collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate and timely asset management.

Contract: 6 months (W2) with potential extension based on performance and business needs

Responsibilities:

  • Audit Support: Provide documentation and respond to internal/external audit inquiries.
  • Month‑End & Year‑End Close: Support close processes related to fixed asset accounting.
  • Capital Expenditure Analysis: Review and validate capital spend to ensure proper asset capitalization.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Complete and review reconciliations for fixed asset and capital accounts.
  • Asset Trend & Depreciation Analysis: Evaluate asset activity, depreciation impacts, and capital spending forecasts.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare schedules and reports covering capital assets, depreciation, and related financial activity.
  • Lifecycle Asset Accounting: Manage asset additions, retirements, transfers, depreciation, and capital project tracking.
  • System Enhancements: Participate in PowerPlan implementations, upgrades, conversions, and enhancement initiatives.
  • PowerPlan Workflow & Configuration: Develop, maintain, and document workflows, reporting, and system configurations.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with project managers, operations, engineering, and finance leaders on capital project accounting.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 6+ years of fixed asset or capital accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, depreciation methods, and capitalization policies.
  • Excellent communication skills clear, professional written and verbal ability.
  • Hands‑on experience with PowerPlan implementation, configuration, upgrades, or optimization is required.
