Key Responsibilities- Conduct detailed mental health assessments of patients and their families, carefully considering individual histories, presenting issues, and associated risk factors to inform treatment plans.
- Develop and execute comprehensive treatment strategies in collaboration with patients, focusing on promoting emotional well-being, coping mechanisms, and enhancing quality of life during terminal care.
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), stress management techniques, and grief counseling tailored to individual patient needs.
- Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions that empower patients and family members to express their feelings and develop coping strategies.
- Provide crisis intervention support and develop safety plans during mental health emergencies, ensuring seamless transitions to higher levels of care if necessary.
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions related to terminal illnesses, treatment options, and community resources available for additional support.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of all assessments, treatment plans, and patient interactions in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

Qualifications- A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
- Valid and current LCSW license in the state of Virginia.

- Comprehensive knowledge of mental health disorders, evidence-based interventions, and trauma-informed care.
- Experience in providing therapy and mental health support in high-stress environments.

- Experience working within hospice or palliative care environments.
