GIS System Administrator (United States Geological Survey)
Geographic Information Systems surround us everyday and it takes a dedicated team behind the scenes to keep those critical systems up and running for analysts to provide actionable and reliable GIS data for researchers, policymakers, and the public.
As a GIS System Administrator, you will be joining XTS's highly capable and collaborative Digital Services team supporting the United States Geological Survey (USGS). In this role, you will be providing essential assistance and maintenance of Esri applications, apply your understanding of GIS workflows and datasets within an elaborate GIS context, and offering administrative support within the Windows and Esri environments.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be considered for this role, the desired candidate must demonstrate:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area and 2 years of relevant experience
    • Minimum 4 years of verified relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Demonstrated experience resolving issues within Windows 11/Server environment
    • Includes experience with configuration management practices and version control standards
    • Ability to apply security updates and address vulnerabilities on client systems
  • Familiarity with Esri software and ArcGIS Enterprise components
    • e.g. ArcGIS Server, Portal, Web Adaptor, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, etc.
    • Experience with other GIS applications like Global Mapper, GDAL, etc. is a plus
  • Possesses strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple assignments independently in a remote environment

Salary Range:
$56,000 - $60,000
