CITGO owns and operates three refineries located in Lake Charles, LA.; Lemont, IL.; and Corpus Christi, TX, and wholly and/or jointly owns 38 active terminals, six pipelines and three lubricants blending and packaging plants. Job Summary

Responsible for preparation of all (i) quarterly and annual financial statements and annual audit reports with accompanying footnotes and (ii) U.S. required regulatory reports. Serve as key CITGO contact for external auditors. Perform special projects and analysis as requested. Responsible for preparation of accounting policies and procedures. Resolve accounting issues by reference to authoritative accounting literature.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree
  • 2 years experience
  • 1 year experience AND either a CPA license or a Master’s degree in relevant field
  1. Versatile and proactive with an ability to research issues independently, formulate questions and identify/propose solutions
  2. Perform broad financial analysis of results of operations
  3. Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
  4. Prioritize duties when given multple projects with limited supervision
  5. Strong interperonal and organizational skills
  6. Strong analytical ability
  7. Effective oral and written communication skills

Preferred

  1. CPA or CPA Eligible
  2. Experience with SAP
  3. Experience in audit process and procedures
Job Duties
  1. Responsible for preparation and documentation/maintain supporting information for all quarterly and annual required financial statements.
  2. Serve as main contact between external auditors and CITGO to obtain requested information and explanations for inquiries as they relate to quarterly reviews and interim/final audit work. This task requires the bandwidth to conduct projects simultaneously with other quarterly and annual reporting duties; to instruct, direct and check the work of others; and the ability to resolve coordination problems
  3. Prepare and coordinate the submission of reports required by U.S. regulatory agencies. This task requires the bandwidth to instruct, direct and check the work of others; and to resolve coordination problems
  4. Coordinate or prepare, reconcile and document financial reporting projects/analysis (includes special projects, requests from management and external auditors, etc.)
  5. Research generally accepted accounting principles, collect data and make determination of reporting requirements. Understanding how the company’s financial/operational processes and strategy impacts CITGO's reports and disclosures. Represent Financial Reporting on behalf of Financial Reporting Manager in various meetings when necessary
