Reporting to the Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis, the Director, FP&A owns the analytical engine behind OneSpan's software revenue (75% of the Company's revenue). This role is accountable for tracking and reporting software bookings, New ACV and Renewal ACV budgeting and forecasting, the ARR roll-forward, and the long-range planning model - the outputs that anchor how OneSpan plans, how leadership reviews performance, and how the company's financial story is told to its Board and its investors. 

This role is equally weighted toward modeling, analytical construction, and presentation. The core infrastructure exists; the defining skill is the ability to work through unstructured, imperfect data, analyze it, and explain the drivers behind the numbers - then carry that view into the recurring management and Board materials, populating and updating the slides that communicate it. They will operate with real autonomy, owning the long-range plan and the majority of quote pricing approvals outright, escalating only what is large, complex, or outside the ordinary course. 

The role carries one direct report, the Manager of Strategic Finance. 

Job Duties & Responsibilities 

• Own software bookings, New ACV, and Renewal ACV budgeting and forecasting globally - building the models, maintaining the underlying logic, and explaining variances to plan and to prior forecast with precision
• Own the ARR roll-forward, including the reconciliation of bookings activity to reported ARR, and the analysis of the drivers behind net retention, gross retention, and churn
• Own and maintain the long-range planning model, including the multi-year software revenue build and the scenario analysis that supports strategic decision-making
• Own quote pricing approvals for software transactions, applying established deal economics and escalating large, complex, or non-standard structures for review
• Prepare and maintain the recurring reporting cycle: monthly and quarterly forecast updates, reforecasts, the monthly business review, and the executive dashboard
• Build the analytical content and supporting schedules used in Board materials and quarterly earnings preparation, working through the VP, FP&A
• Operate, maintain, and extend the existing reporting and data infrastructure, including Excel and Power Query models and documented Python logic that supports revenue and ARR reporting
• Partner with Accounting, Revenue Operations, Sales Leadership, and functional leaders to source inputs, validate assumptions, reconcile differences, and ensure reported results and forecasts tie cleanly to underlying systems
• Identify and build improvements to the revenue planning and reporting architecture - reducing manual effort, shortening cycle time, and improving the reliability of recurring outputs
• Develop the Manager of Strategic Finance through structured coaching, technical review, and progressive delegation of scope
• Deliver ad-hoc analysis in support of leadership decision-making, including pricing, packaging, customer cohort, and go-to-market questions 

Requirements/Expertise 

• 10+ years of relevant finance experience and prior experience managing others
• Demonstrated revenue-side FP&A or strategic finance experience - budgeting and forecasting bookings, revenue, or recurring revenue streams in an environment where the output was relied upon by senior leadership
• Working understanding of SaaS business models and metrics (ARR, ACV, NRR, GRR, bookings-to-revenue mechanics). Depth here is valuable but can be developed; the underlying analytical judgment is a "must have"
• Exceptional financial modeling ability, including the capacity to inherit a model built by someone else, reconstruct its logic, stress it, and extend it
• Demonstrated ability to work with unstructured, incomplete, or inconsistent data - reconciling sources, resolving discrepancies, and arriving at a defensible conclusion
• Strong slide craft: able to populate, update, and refine recurring management and Board materials with accuracy and a clear narrative thread
• Intellectual rigor and genuine analytical curiosity - the instinct to trace a metric to its drivers and to keep going until the answer reconciles
• Advanced Excel required, including Power Query. Familiarity with Python is an advantage; willingness and ability to learn the existing documented Python framework is required
• Experience with, or the ability to quickly become effective in, Salesforce (CRM), Workday Adaptive Planning (or comparable FP&A platform), BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI, and Think-Cell
• Ability to operate with autonomy and sound judgment about what to decide independently and what to escalate
• Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate analytical detail into a conclusion a non-financial audience can act on
• Undergraduate degree required. MBA, a relevant master's degree, or CFA is a plus but is not a requirement
• Public company experience is ideal but is not required
• Candidates from non-SaaS backgrounds - investment banking, consulting, valuation, transaction advisory, corporate development - are also encouraged to apply
• Must be based in the United States. Limited travel, primarily to a selected location for planning cycles and team gatherings

Salary: $185,000 - $205,000 (depending on experience and qualifications) plus bonus.
