What is a remote financial literacy?

A Remote Financial Literacy job involves educating individuals or groups on financial concepts such as budgeting, saving, investing, and debt management, all through virtual platforms. Professionals in this role may work as educators, coaches, or consultants, often using webinars, online courses, or one-on-one video sessions to provide guidance. The goal is to improve financial knowledge and decision-making skills, helping clients achieve financial stability and growth.

What are common challenges faced by professionals in remote financial literacy roles, and how can they be addressed?

One of the primary challenges of working in remote financial literacy is maintaining participant engagement and understanding without face-to-face interaction. Professionals often need to employ interactive tools, tailored resources, and regular follow-ups to bridge the gap and address different learning styles. Additionally, building trust and rapport with clients or students can take more effort in a virtual setting, making strong communication and responsiveness essential. By continuously updating their digital teaching methods and actively seeking feedback, remote financial literacy professionals can overcome these challenges and deliver impactful education remotely.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the remote financial literacy position, and why are they important?

To excel in Remote Financial Literacy roles, you need a solid understanding of personal finance concepts, instructional skills, and, often, a background in finance, education, or a related certification such as AFCPE or CFP. Familiarity with digital learning platforms, virtual collaboration tools, and financial planning software is typically important. Outstanding communication, empathy, and the ability to motivate others are essential soft skills in this field. These competencies are crucial because they ensure effective remote instruction and engagement, ultimately empowering clients or students to make informed financial decisions.

Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a DTC & eCom Growth Strategist based in Netherlands.

This role is designed for a commercially minded growth strategist who can connect paid media, finance, analytics, and broader business strategy to drive profitable growth. You'll advise established DTC and eCommerce brands and work directly with founders and senior leadership teams. Rather than focusing solely on campaign performance, you'll evaluate the full commercial picture and identify opportunities across acquisition, creative, customer behavior, operations, and financial planning. You'll own strategic client relationships and influence high-value business decisions through data-backed recommendations. The role offers significant autonomy, exposure to sophisticated eCommerce businesses, and opportunities to develop deeper expertise in financial modeling and growth strategy. It is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to evolve from performance marketing into a trusted commercial advisor and future growth leader.

Accountabilities
  • Lead paid media and acquisition strategy across platforms such as Google, Meta, and other relevant growth channels, connecting channel performance to broader commercial objectives.
  • Build commercial forecasts and financial models using metrics such as contribution margin, LTV:CAC, aMER, profitability, and growth projections.
  • Translate complex marketing, financial, and performance data into clear, actionable recommendations for founders and senior stakeholders.
  • Identify and evaluate growth opportunities across acquisition, creative strategy, offers, customer behavior, funnels, products, inventory, operations, and seasonality.
  • Lead strategic conversations with founders and senior leadership, acting as a trusted advisor on growth and commercial decisions.
  • Own high-value client relationships from strategy through execution, ensuring recommendations lead to measurable business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with creative strategy, ad operations, and leadership teams to align marketing activity with commercial priorities.
  • Coach teammates and contribute to the development of internal growth frameworks, forecasting methodologies, and best practices.
  • Continuously evaluate opportunities to improve profitability, sustainable growth, and long-term business performance rather than optimizing individual campaigns in isolation.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience managing multi-channel 7-8 figure eCommerce portfolios, with a strong track record of influencing meaningful business outcomes.
  • Proven experience in paid media, performance marketing, or growth strategy combined with a strong understanding of commercial business drivers.
  • Advanced financial literacy, including contribution margin, LTV modeling, forecasting, financial analysis, and unit economics.
  • Strong ability to connect marketing performance data with broader commercial recommendations and business strategy.
  • Experience advising founders, executives, or senior leadership teams and communicating complex ideas clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to build integrated growth strategies spanning marketing, finance, operations, products, and customer behavior.
  • Experience solving complex eCommerce growth challenges involving platforms, funnels, inventory, seasonality, acquisition, and profitability.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to make decisions based on data and commercial trade-offs.
  • Proven ability to independently manage high-value client relationships and operate as a trusted strategic advisor.
  • An entrepreneurial, business-owner mindset with a focus on solving commercial problems rather than simply optimizing advertising platforms.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to challenge assumptions and provide thoughtful recommendations.
  • Availability to overlap with Australian working hours, including approximately 2:00 PM-6:00 PM Australian time for meetings, training, and client collaboration.
  • Commitment to a full-time, exclusive role and an interest in progressing toward broader growth leadership responsibilities.
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation negotiated according to experience, capabilities, and demonstrated impact, with a commitment to matching your current or most recent salary and higher compensation available for exceptional candidates.
  • Opportunity to work directly with established 8- and 9-figure DTC and eCommerce brands and influence meaningful commercial decisions.
  • Clear competency-based career progression toward broader strategic growth leadership.
  • Ongoing learning and development across eCommerce growth, data science, creative strategy, financial modeling, and commercial strategy.
  • Access to proprietary tools, forecasting frameworks, and performance dashboards.
  • Fully remote work environment with flexibility and collaboration across a global team.
  • Annual team retreats and regular opportunities to connect with colleagues internationally.
  • Significant autonomy and ownership over client strategy, growth initiatives, and business outcomes.
  • Opportunity to deepen expertise in commercial strategy, financial modeling, leadership, and sustainable growth.
