Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Payables and Travel supervisor, this position is primarily responsible for processing invoices for payment and performing pre-audits of payment vouchers and expense reimbursements. The position processes payments and reimbursements in the financial system in accordance with the State Controller's Office (SCO) delegated pre-audit agreement and applicable agency policies and procedures. The position ensures that payments and reimbursements submitted by Department of Administration (DOA) divisions and attached agencies are accurate, properly documented, and compliant with applicable laws, regulations, and internal controls.

Salary Information
  • Starting pay for the Financial Specialist - Senior (02-13) is $26.61 hourly, plus excellent benefits .
  • A 12-month probation period may be required.
  • Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Job Details
Due to the nature of the position, DOA will conduct background checks on applicants prior to selection. DOA does not sponsor work visas and is not an eligible OPT (Optional Practical Training) employer for F-1 international students. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form.
This position is located at the Department of Administration State Office Building, 101 East Wilson Street, Madison, WI. This position is a hybrid position and requires you to work in the office every Wednesday. This topic and any remote work flexibility that may be available will be discussed in more detail in the interview process. For positions that do allow remote work flexibility, although residency in the State of Wisconsin is not required for permanent positions, it is not anticipated that working outside of Wisconsin or bordering cities will be allowed.
Qualifications

  • Preparing invoices (e.g. processing, billing, reconciliations, or similar)

  • Reviewing or approving travel or corporate travel accounts
