Job Description:

What'sthe role

The Revenue/JV Analyst is responsible for delivering Finance capabilities in the areas of Production Sharing Contract (PSC), Joint Venture (JV), and Revenue Accounting. The role supports end-to-end gas billing for operating PSCs and provides accounting and reporting support across Operated, Non-Operated, and Exploration PSC portfolios. The incumbent is accountable for ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely reporting to PETRONAS and internal Group stakeholders while maintaining a robust financial control environment and driving continuous process improvement.

Shell Malaysia Upstream (SMU) have a large portfolio of assets (offshore and onshore in various locations), encompassing 20+ active Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs) through 7 legal entities, involving more than 15+ JV partners, local states and a National Oil Company (PETRONAS).

Reporting directly to the PSC Lead, this role interfaces extensively with internal stakeholders across R&A, Finance in the Business (FIB), business and Financial Controller. The role also engages regularly with key external stakeholders, including Joint Venture (JV) partners and PETRONAS, to support PSC accounting and gas billing requirements and deliverables.

Whatyou'llbe doing

The Revenue/JV Analyst is responsible for delivering PSC, JV, revenue accounting, and gas billing activities across SMU. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure compliance with HSSE, Ethics & Compliance, PSC, JOA, GSA, PETRONAS governing standards, and internal control requirements.

  • Execute monthly and quarterly PSC deliverables including e-invoicing, cash calls, Statement of Account, Joint Interest Billing, entitlement and revenue reporting, Quarterly Audited Account submissions, and entitlement adjustment invoices.

  • Support Operated, Non-Operated, and Exploration PSC accounting, reporting, stewardship, and Group reporting requirements.

  • Prepare, review, and submit accurate and complete reports to PETRONAS, JV partners, and internal Group stakeholders in line with external reporting obligations.

  • Deliver Finance support across accounting, tax, treasury, reporting, controls, risk management, and business partnering activities.

  • Perform account reconciliation, substantiation, and assurance activities through Blackline or other applicable tools, ensuring timely resolution of open items and control exceptions.

  • Support financial control activities including balance sheet integrity, issue remediation, restatement, and legacy clean-up where applicable.

  • Work closely with R&A, Finance in the Business, Process Owners, Controllers, JV partners, and PETRONAS to resolve issues and support business delivery.

  • Lead or support automation, digitalization, simplification, and control improvement initiatives.

  • Provide insights on value, risks, opportunities, and resource evaluation to support business decision-making.

  • 5-8 years of relevant Finance experience, preferably in Oil & Gas finance, accounting, reporting, financial controls, revenue accounting, or related areas.
