Job Summary:

The Underwriting Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the underwriting team to ensure the efficient processing of new and renewal stop loss business. This role is responsible for submission intake, documentation management, broker communication, and workflow coordination while maintaining high levels of accuracy, responsiveness, and customer service.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced environment supporting underwriters, brokers, TPAs, and carrier partners.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist underwriters with new business and renewal submissions.
  • Review submissions for completeness and request outstanding information as needed.
  • Prepare and organize underwriting files and supporting documentation.
  • Enter and maintain accurate data within underwriting and policy administration systems.
  • Respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coordinate the collection of applications, claims experience, plan documents, and other required underwriting information.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with brokers and business partners.
  • Track submissions, renewals, and outstanding requirements to ensure timely processing.
  • Support audits, carrier reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor underwriting inboxes and assist with workflow management.
  • Assist with special projects and operational initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • 1 year of health insurance experience
  • Strong knowledge of self-funded health plan structures is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Details:

The base compensation range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000. This range reflects Acrisure's good faith estimate at the time of this posting. Placement within the range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.

Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
