Overview:

A client of Insight Global is seeking a hybrid Tax Manager / Fund Manager to work directly alongside ownership as a strategic partner and future leader within the firm.

This firm operates at the intersection of sophisticated tax strategy and alternative-asset investment structuring. They specialize in designing and managing tax-advantaged investment opportunities, particularly within film and entertainment finance, while guiding clients through complex tax scenarios and investment execution.

About the Opportunity:

This is a unique hybrid role for someone who thrives in both technical tax advisory and investment management environments. You will support sophisticated tax planning engagements while also helping structure, market, and manage alternative-asset investment offerings across film, entertainment, and other emerging industries.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, building relationships, thinking creatively, and operating within a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Strategy & Compliance:

  • Lead and support complex tax planning, projections, and compliance for high-net-worth individuals, businesses, trusts, and funds
  • Develop and stress-test tax-advantaged investment structures within film, entertainment, private aviation, and other industries
  • Review tax returns and oversee tax staff to ensure technical accuracy and alignment with deal structures
  • Assist in operational oversight of businesses tied to investment strategies

Fund & Investment Management:

  • Help structure, launch, and manage alternative-asset offerings, with a primary focus on film equity and production financing
  • Build and refine financial models, including waterfalls, leverage structures, investor return projections, and tax-credit collateral models
  • Manage the investment lifecycle (capital calls, allocations, distributions, investor reporting, and compliance)
  • Partner with ownership on deal sourcing, due diligence, and transaction structuring

Client Development & Relationship Management:

  • Identify investment opportunities within the firmโ€™s existing client base
  • Present investment offerings to accredited investors and referral partners
  • Build long-term client relationships across both tax advisory and investment services
  • Represent the firm at industry events within entertainment and finance communities
  • Travel as needed to support client and investor relationships (including movie sets and industry events)

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Entrepreneurial and solutions-oriented
  • Comfortable operating in a lean, high-growth environment
  • Equally confident in technical tax discussions and investor-facing conversations
  • Relationship-driven with strong compliance and fiduciary awareness
  • Interested in alternative investments, entertainment finance, and innovative deal structures

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Performance-based incentives
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Full benefits package
  • Professional development support
  • Approximately 95% remote with occasional travel and in-person meetings

Required Skills & Experience:

  • CPA, EA, JD/LLM in Taxation, or equivalent complex tax experience
  • 5+ years of tax experience with strong exposure to pass-through entities and high-net-worth individuals
  • Strong financial modeling and Excel skills
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to build relationships and support business development
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Adaptable, self-motivated, and eager to learn
