Position Overview
Volta Group is seeking an experienced Land Agent based in Louisiana to support land acquisition and right-of-way campaigns for energy and infrastructure projects. The Land Agent will work directly with landowners, developers, and internal project teams to secure land rights, conduct due diligence, and help advance projects through the development lifecycle.
This role requires strong negotiation skills, knowledge of Louisiana property records and title research, and the ability to build trust with landowners and local stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and contact landowners to negotiate option agreements, leases, easements, and purchase agreements
  • Conduct surface ownership and title research using parish records and online databases
  • Prepare and manage landowner contact logs, tract reports, and acquisition status updates
  • Coordinate with project managers, title teams, and survey teams to support development efforts
  • Assist with right-of-way acquisition for transmission lines, pipelines, or other infrastructure
  • Support due diligence efforts including ownership verification and document review
  • Maintain strong landowner relationships throughout negotiation and project development
  • Provide regular reporting using Excel, GIS systems, and project management tools
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of land acquisition or right-of-way experience
  • Experience working in Louisiana parish records and title systems
  • Background in energy, renewables, transmission, pipelines, or infrastructure development
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Experience with GIS tools or land management software is a plus
  • AAPL or IRWA membership preferred
