What is a remote field agent?

Remote Field Agents are professionals who perform fieldwork tasks such as data collection, inspections, customer service, or sales, but do so while managing their assignments from a remote location rather than a traditional office. They often travel to various sites or interact with clients in-person, but coordinate their schedules, report findings, and communicate with their employers or teams using digital tools. This role is common in industries like real estate, insurance, sales, or research, where on-site presence is needed but office attendance is not. The flexibility and autonomy of the position make it appealing for those who value independence and working outside a traditional office environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote field agent?

To thrive as a Remote Field Agent, you need strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a background in customer service or field operations, often supported by a relevant associate or bachelor's degree. Familiarity with CRM software, mobile communication tools, and GPS tracking systems is typically required. Excellent time management, self-motivation, and effective communication skills help agents work independently and adapt to diverse environments. These competencies are crucial for delivering reliable service, maintaining client satisfaction, and efficiently managing tasks while working remotely.

How does a remote field agent stay connected with their team and manage fieldwork efficiently?

As a Remote Field Agent, staying connected with your team is essential for effective communication and task coordination. Most organizations use digital tools such as mobile apps, video conferencing, and cloud-based reporting systems to keep everyone updated and streamline workflows. You'll often check in virtually with supervisors, collaborate with other agents, and submit reports or findings online. Balancing independent fieldwork with regular virtual meetings is key to ensuring productivity and alignment with organizational goals.

Job description

Independent Medicare Field Agent

Pay Range: Commission-based; varies by production and book size

Location: Remote

Company Overview

At Healthpilot, we're passionate about helping seniors get into the right Medicare plan. Picking coverage is one of the most important and most confusing decisions a senior will make. Too many are left on their own, bombarded by ads and stumbling into plans that don't fit their drugs, doctors, or budget. We're on a mission to be the resource seniors can count on for honest, personalized Medicare guidance, year after year, as their needs and the plans around them change.

We're looking for licensed agents who share that passion: ambitious, customer-focused self-starters who want to help more seniors and build lasting client relationships. This is a role for agents who bring drive and hustle, and we'll back that growth with the AI-powered tools, the carrier network, and the platform support to help you succeed.

Why Join Healthpilot?

Uncapped Earning Potential

  • Full carrier commissions and renewals on business you generate
  • Flat fee plus yearly renewals on company-generated leads

A Smarter Platform Built for Modern Agents

  • Client-facing needs assessment captures drugs, doctors, and preferences before your appointment starts
  • AI reviews every plan, highlights what fits, and saves you hours of research
  • CRM, quoting, enrollment, SOA capture, and compliance documentation in a single tool to streamline your work.
  • Focus on sales and relationships, not data entry and paperwork

A Better Fit Means a Stronger Book

  • Clients in the right plan from day one stay year after year
  • Higher retention means fewer AEP switches and less rework every fall
  • Your book compounds in value over time, instead of churning

14+ Carriers Already Contracted

  • Humana, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, WellCare, Essence, SCAN, Clover Health, HCSC, UPMC, and more

Who You Are

  • Active Health Insurance License in your resident state
  • AHIP 2026 certification (or willing to certify before AEP)
  • 1+ years selling Medicare Advantage or Medicare Supplement
  • Comfortable in a 100% commission, 1099 environment
  • Strong command of CMS Medicare Communications and Marketing Guidelines
  • Established lead sources or strong community presence
  • Experience with modern CRM and quoting platforms
