A Remote Fidelity job typically refers to a position with Fidelity Investments that allows employees to work remotely, either full-time or in a hybrid capacity. These roles can span various functions such as customer service, financial advising, technology, and analytics. Remote employees leverage digital tools and secure platforms to assist clients, analyze financial data, or develop investment solutions. Fidelity provides remote workers with resources and support to maintain productivity and engagement while working from home.

What are the main challenges of working as a remote fidelity specialist, and how can they be managed?

One of the main challenges in a remote fidelity role is maintaining high data security standards while handling sensitive financial information off-site. Team members must also adapt to working independently and staying connected with clients and colleagues through digital tools rather than in-person meetings. To succeed, it's important to establish a productive workspace, stay updated on cybersecurity protocols, and communicate proactively with your team. Many companies provide frequent online training sessions and virtual support to ensure remote employees have the resources they need to excel. Adapting to these unique challenges fosters both professional growth and strong client trust.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the remote fidelity position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Fidelity Specialist, you need a strong background in financial services, attention to detail, and proficiency with remote communication platforms. Familiarity with financial management software, secure file transfer systems, and relevant certifications such as Series 7 or Series 63 are often required. Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and clear communication abilities are essential for success in virtual team environments. These qualifications ensure accurate financial operations, data security, and effective client interactions in a remote setting.

Does remote Fidelity allow remote work?

Remote Fidelity positions typically allow employees to work from home or other remote locations, depending on the company's policies. Many remote roles require familiarity with digital communication tools and a suitable home office setup. It is advisable to review the specific job listing for remote work eligibility and requirements.

AD & Associate Actuary - AS07AEAD Consultant, Actuarial - AA07EE

We're determined to make a difference and are proud to be an insurance company that goes well beyond coverages and policies. Working here means having every opportunity to achieve your goals - and to help others accomplish theirs, too. Join our team as we help shape the future.

This position is part of the Financial Lines Reserving team supporting a diverse portfolio of specialty coverages, including Directors & Officers, Errors & Omissions, Employment Practices Liability, Cyber, and Fidelity/Crime.

Financial Lines offers a unique opportunity to develop expertise in complex products, emerging risks, and evolving claim trends. In this role, you will partner closely with Claims and Pricing to monitor portfolio performance, evaluate reserve adequacy, and provide insights that inform business decisions.

Successful candidates are intellectually curious, enjoy learning complex subject matter, and are motivated by solving challenging problems. The role offers the opportunity to build deep expertise, apply actuarial judgment, influence reserve decisions, and translate complex analyses into meaningful business insights. As systems and processes continue to evolve, there will also be opportunities to help shape how the work gets done through enhancements to tools, monitoring, and actuarial processes.

** Please note, candidates pursuing exams as well as those not pursuing exams will be considered for this role. This role can be part of our Actuarial Student Program for an individual meeting requirements for entry into the program. **

Responsibilities

  • Complete reserve studies and advise management on reserve decisions, including providing insight into key drivers of change.

  • Develop and maintain monitoring tools such as actual loss vs expectation and reserving diagnostics.

  • Partner closely with Claims to develop insights and inform reserve decisions.

  • Analyze portfolio performance, emerging claim trends, and significant loss activity to inform reserve decisions and business strategy.

  • Drive improvements in data quality, portfolio monitoring, and actuarial processes through innovative solutions, effective controls, governance, and ongoing process enhancements.

Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Near to recent ACAS preferred. Candidates with Actuarial experience not pursuing exams may be considered.

  • Minimum 4+ years of Property and Casualty actuarial experience; reserving experience preferred.

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply sound actuarial judgment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex analyses into business insights.

  • Driven, intellectually curious, resourceful, and creative; able to learn new concepts and business areas quickly.

  • Proactive individual who demonstrates ownership, partners effectively across functions, and continuously seeks opportunities to improve processes and analytical capabilities.

  • Strong Excel skills required. Experience with SQL, VBA, R, Python, or similar coding languages a plus.

Location:

This role can have a hybrid work arrangement (Tuesday - Thursday in office) in hub offices located in Hartford CT, Chicago IL, Charlotte NC, or Columbus OH.

Candidates who do not live near one of these office locations may be considered for a remote work arrangement with occasional travel.
