Job description

SUMMARY:
The Pharmacy Account Executive (PAE) serves as the primary pharmacy benefits expert for a South Texas book of business supporting clients with up to 3,000 employees. This role drives client retention and growth through consultative account management, pharmacy benefit expertise, and strong partnership with clients, brokers, consultants, and internal teams.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, consultative professional who excels at building relationships, solving problems, and delivering pharmacy solutions that improve client outcomes and support business growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage and retain a designated client portfolio.
  • Serve as the pharmacy subject matter expert for sales and account teams.
  • Lead client discussions on pharmacy performance, trends, and cost-management strategies.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders on renewals, pricing, implementation, and growth opportunities.
  • Build strong client relationships and act as an escalation point for pharmacy-related issues.
  • Support finalist presentations and new business opportunities.
  • Analyze pharmacy utilization and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Provide support for contracts, audits, reporting, and pharmacy coverage questions.

IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE A COMBINATION OF THE FOLLOWING:
  • 5+ years of PBM, pharmacy consulting, or related healthcare experience.
  • Experience managing client relationships and renewals.
  • Strong understanding of PBM operations and pharmacy benefit programs.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Knowledge of PBM financials, pricing, and contracting.
  • Experience supporting sales and business growth initiatives.
  • Located in Houston, San Antonio, or Dallas.
