Job Summary:


Oversees, audits, validates, and inspects contractor field work/performance involving cable TV and fiber optic cable plant construction which includes directional drilling, placement of underground and aerial fiber optic and cable tv cable as well as hand holes splice enclosures grounding, bonding, and other construction practices consistent with engineering documents, permits, and designs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Inspects fiber construction in accordance with acceptable industry standards.
  • Accurately updates construction maps and systems with changes/additions and materials used consistently with established processes.
  • Identifies and communicates construction issues, progress, opportunities, etc. to management and design staff as needed.
  • Maintains all record keeping in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Other duties as assigned by management and design staff.
  • Writes technical reports or documentation.

Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of related experience preferred.
  • Must be able to travel as needed to various project sites and markets, which may require long hours and flexibility in schedule.
  • Ability to work long hours involving overtime and weekends, as necessary.
  • Ability to respond to the needs of a 24/7/365 operation.
  • Must be able to work emergency schedules during natural disasters and network outages.
  • Individuals must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record meeting the company and insurance policy conditions.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision depth perception, and ability to focus.
