Description
The Service Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and supporting the daily operations of biomedical equipment technicians (BMETs) deployed in the field. This role ensures seamless scheduling, communication, logistics coordination, and performance tracking for BMETs working at client healthcare facilities. The Service Coordinator acts as a liaison between clients, technicians, and internal departments to ensure service excellence and compliance with industry standards.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate field service schedules and technician assignments based on client needs, technician availability, and geographic proximity.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for BMETs in the field, providing real-time support and issue resolution.
• Monitor service delivery metrics, turnaround times, and equipment maintenance schedules.
• Track and document service reports, preventative maintenance, and repair work in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Communicate with hospital staff and clients to ensure expectations are met and services are delivered efficiently.
• Manage onboarding and orientation processes for new BMETs joining field service assignments.
• Coordinate logistics such as equipment delivery, parts procurement, and travel arrangements for field technicians.
• Maintain accurate records of work orders, technician hours, and performance metrics.
• Identify operational challenges and recommend improvements to optimize field service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards including The Joint Commission (TJC), NFPA, and OEM guidelines.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Associate degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in a healthcare technology management (HTM) environment
• Prior experience coordinating service or technical teams
• Working knowledge of CMMS platforms (e.g., Nuvolo, TMS, or AIMS)
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
• Experience with travel and logistics coordination for technical field teams
• Familiarity with healthcare regulations and standards
Work Environment:
