POSITION: Litigation Attorney (Fully Remote)

LOCATION: California (Fully Remote; must be locate in close proximity to the Los Angeles area; approximately one day per month on site as needed)

COMPENSATION: Base salary up to $190,000, bonus and sign-on bonus eligible, comprehensive benefits, and 401(k), etc.

Join a growing insurance defense practice in the Los Angeles area as a Litigation Attorney in a fully remote role. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced litigator to handle a diverse caseload of complex insurance defense matters while working closely with a collaborative team of attorneys and legal professionals. The ideal candidate is a strong advocate with solid litigation experience who can independently manage matters while maintaining strong relationships with clients and colleagues.


Responsibilities for Litigation Attorney:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of insurance defense litigation matters from inception through resolution, including developing case strategy and advising clients on litigation risks
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, memoranda, correspondence, and other litigation documents
  • Manage all phases of discovery, including written discovery, document review, depositions, and discovery disputes
  • Conduct legal research and analysis regarding insurance coverage, liability, damages, and applicable state and federal law
  • Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and other court proceedings
  • Communicate directly with insurance carriers, clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other parties throughout the litigation process
  • Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to manage deadlines, develop case strategy, and efficiently resolve matters


Qualifications for Litigation Attorney:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in California
  • 4+ years of insurance experience in a law firm environment
  • Experience managing civil litigation matters through multiple stages of the litigation lifecycle, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, and resolution
  • Strong background in insurance defense litigation, with experience in areas such as personal injury, professional liability, construction, transportation, products liability, or other complex civil litigation
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills with the ability to independently develop and execute litigation strategy
  • Excellent case management and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple matters, competing deadlines, and client expectations in a fully remote environment
