Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Procurement Contract Specialist for a remote role.
Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Procurement Contract Specialist to support high-impact procurement initiatives with a focus on contract strategy, vendor negotiations, and M&A readiness.
This role partners closely with Procurement leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate existing agreements, identify risk, and optimize contract structures in support of future acquisitions, divestitures, and organizational restructuring.
This is a strategic role-not responsible for transactional procurement activities such as purchase orders, requisitions, or invoicing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review, analyze, and negotiate complex indirect vendor contracts (e.g., IT, SaaS, professional services)
* Assess contract terms, vendor obligations, and financial and compliance risks
* Evaluate contract utilization across business units and identify optimization opportunities
* Develop recommendations for contract alignment, separation, and consolidation to support M&A and restructuring initiatives
* Partner with IT, Finance, HR, Legal, and executive leadership to align procurement strategy with business goals
* Lead vendor negotiations to improve commercial terms, flexibility, and risk positioning
* Prepare and present executive-level analyses, insights, and recommendations
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
* 7-10+ years of procurement experience with a strong focus on indirect categories
* Demonstrated experience with contract negotiations and vendor management
* Exposure to M&A, divestitures, or organizational restructuring initiatives strongly preferred
* Strong analytical and financial acumen, including risk assessment
* Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
* Proven ability to communicate and influence at the senior leadership level
Preferred Experience:
* Management of large-scale vendor portfolios and contract environments
* Experience operating in complex, multi-business unit organizations
Engagement Details:
* Remote
* Central or Eastern Time Zone preferred
* Initial 6-month contract with potential extension
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
