This role is structured for remote work, providing flexibility while enabling you to engage with consumers through face-to-face interactions via telehealth. Working from Bainbridge Island, Washington, you will have the opportunity to connect with patients across various settings, ensuring that distance does not hinder the delivery of outstanding mental health services. Your daily tasks as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor will include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting comprehensive intake diagnostic assessments, including the formulation of treatment plans and crisis management strategies tailored to each consumer's needs.
• Maintaining accurate and detailed records of client sessions and treatment progress within an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
• Providing both face-to-face and telehealth therapeutic services, adapting approaches as necessary to meet the consumer's preferences and needs.
• Collaborating with families and caregivers to monitor clients’ treatment responses, providing education and support to facilitate positive behavioral changes.
• Participating in clinical meetings and interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance the overall quality of care delivered to clients.
• Completing required training and professional development activities while maintaining licensure in good standing throughout your employment.
• Offering crisis intervention services and being available for on-call support during after-hours as needed.

You will work closely with a varied clientele, including individuals facing mental health issues, those with intellectual disabilities, and persons dealing with substance use disorders. Your role will be pivotal in supporting consumers who may struggle with low self-esteem, family relational issues, and suicidal tendencies, guiding them through their recovery journeys with compassion and professionalism.

To succeed in this role, you must possess:

• A valid license in the District of Columbia as an LPC, LMFT, or LICSW.
• A Master's Degree in a mental health field or human services-related discipline.
• Strong communication, active listening, and documentation skills for effective consumer interaction and EHR management.
• The ability to work autonomously while contributing to team dynamics, emphasizing collaboration and mutual respect.
• Proficient skills in managing time efficiently and handling the challenges posed by a caseload within established productivity expectations.
• Cultural sensitivity and a commitment to working with individuals from diverse socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds.

Ideal candidates will have experience with the following:

• Delivering therapeutic services to clients with diverse backgrounds and complex needs, particularly within a community health setting.
• Utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities based on individual client assessments.
• Conducting family therapy and facilitating group sessions aimed at enhancing communication and coping strategies.
• Providing mentorship or supervision to junior therapists or interns, cultivating a strong therapeutic community.
