Job description

Job Purpose or Goals

Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM| 60/40 Onsite/Remote| Weekly Earned Wage Access is an option for this position. 

IT Business Systems Analysts play a key role in achieving objectives related to technology implementations and supporting operational efficiencies. The role engages with business user groups to analyze data, perform process modeling and document business requirements that programmers, engineers and vendors can use to build solutions while planning and executing projects.

Tasks:
  1. Establish project requirements using interviews, document analysis, surveys, business process descriptions, use case scenarios and workflow analyses.  Ensure all stakeholders are involved in requirements gathering activities. 
  2. Prepares detailed requirements specification documents, user interface guides, business process/workflow diagrams, functional and technical specification documents in support of everything from small system enhancements to larger scale, complex project deployments.  Effectively organize and categorize large amounts of information provided by stakeholders. 
  3. Conducts need analysis, organizational readiness assessments, and impact analysis to identify opportunities to link programs, processes, and systems throughout the organization to achieve optimal efficiency. 
  4. Development of new business processes that are sustainable and increase efficiency. 
  5. Understand long-term business objectives and suggest strategies to meet those objectives by influencing stakeholders to use industry standard best practices.
  6. Work with business owners and stakeholders to develop business cases, project scope acceptance criteria and a plan to facilitate user testing to ensure that the solution meets the business requirements. 
  7. Serves as a subject matter expert and performs required job functions on urgent, high profile, and strategic projects to ensure accuracy and completeness. 
  8. Mentors Business System Analysts to improve domain and business analysis process knowledge and skill sets to enhance capabilities and increase competencies. 
  9. Facilitate meeting schedules with clear agendas, meeting notes and action items.
  10. Performs other duties as may be assigned. 
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in technical or business related field or 4 years of related work experience. 
  • 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of field related to the end user group that will be supported (health, government, commerce, gaming, finance, legal or human resources).
  • Willingness and ability to train and mentor junior level associates.
  • Interest in obtaining ECBA, CCBA, CBAP, PMI-PBA or PMI-PMP preferred.
  • 4 years of experience providing technical support for customer issues, implementing technical solutions and process improvement or other relevant functions. 
  • Proficient in all Microsoft products and software such as Visio to generate process maps.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport and develop long-lasting relationships with team members and business stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated individual who can adapt quickly, communicate well, and is highly professional with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills couples with an ability to multi-task and communicate across different departments to drive issues to closure.
 Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, relevant Business Degree or 4 years related experience.Work with business staff and management, and IT personnel to compile information on project requirements and negotiate disputes.Professional IT CertificationAbove average meeting facilitationKnowledge of at least one project methodology (PMI, Prince2, or Agile Project Management), the software development life cycle (Waterfall, Iterative, Agile, Scrum, Kanban) and at least one relational database management system (prefer MS SQL Server or Oracle).Proficient in Visio, Project, SharePoint, and TFS) with intermediate to advanced Excel skills (can perform complex functions)Minimum of eight years directly related work experience in a Business Systems Analyst capacity, including all aspects of process development1. You will establish project requirements using interviews, document analysis, surveys, business process descriptions,use case scenarios and workflow analyses. Ensure all partners are involved in requirements gathering activities.2. Prepare detailed requirements specification documents, user interface guides, business process/workflow diagrams,functional and technical specification documents to support everything from small system enhancements to largerscale project deployments.3. Understand long-term goals and suggest strategies to meet those goals; introduce innovation to business processesthrough technology.4. Develop new business processes, diagnoses problems with an organization's current methodology, redesigns processes to improve efficiency, and monitors processes to ensure they are effective.5. You will conduct needs analysis, organizational readiness assessments, and improve analysis to identify opportunities to link processes.6. Develop business cases for candidate projects. Identify costs and benefits for potential projects to aid decision makers in selecting value projects for their organization.7. Be a subject matter expert and perform required job responsibilities on urgent, high profile, and projects to ensureaccuracy and completeness.8. Mentor Business System Analysts to improve domain and business process knowledge to enhance capabilities andincrease competencies.9. You will document user training materials, process guides, and conduct user training.10. Perform other tasks as may be assigned.
